Gorriti Taberna — Restaurant in San Sebastián

If you are not a local don’t waste your time going in this place. The owner and workers do not like tourists and they don’t try to hide it. The locals that frequent his establishment also seem to hate tourists as well. The food is just okay which was surprising because this bar has so many high ratings youtube and other sites. We spent 14 days in San Sebastián and this was the ONLY establishment that made us feel unwelcome in this beautiful and otherwise friendly town . He should do himself a favor and just put up a sign outside of his bar that says no tourists allowed. If you read the reviews the only highly rated reviews are from local guides. A real Basque bar where you'll hear more Euskara than Castilian. The staff are so lovely and even allowed me to stay inside as they were still opening up and preparing breakfast. I had a train to Bordeaux later that morning, and if any of you have been to Donosti, should know, you must eat pintxos at each and every meal as they're seriously that good. Open 7am-10pm, this corner taberna, like all other tavernas we’ve tried in San Sebastián, serves cheap, delicious pintxos. 2 cafe con leche, 3 pintxos for 13euros. We got 2 of the same - a slice of baguette topped with dried tomato, a thick slice of Brie, and a generous serving of prosciutto with a drizzle of fig jam - so much flavor in a single serving. The other pintxos was freshly fried battered fish on a slice of bread. Had a choice of wine or capuccino but I needed the shot of caffeine to get me going so...
