I was thoroughly disappointed with Hell’s Kitchen Ibiza. I’ve visited nearly every Hell’s Kitchen around the world, and it was immediately obvious this one was brand new and not yet up to standard.
To start, I ordered a bottle of the white house wine. Instead of simply serving it, the server went out of their way to speak poorly of it and pushed me into ordering a more expensive bottle. As someone who enjoys wine, I know house wines are typically chosen to represent the restaurant well and offer great value. This was a clear upsell, and unfortunately the wine I was convinced to take gave me the worst heartburn I’ve ever had. The original option was something I had tried before and enjoyed, and I wish I had been allowed to stick with my choice.
The food was equally underwhelming. At every other Hell’s Kitchen location I’ve been to, the food has been outstanding, so good that even with the high prices, you walk away satisfied. Here, however, the dishes were very average and nowhere near worth the premium cost.
To make matters worse, the chair I was seated on was filthy. It ruined a $200 shirt I had just purchased, which is completely unacceptable for a restaurant carrying the Hell’s Kitchen name.
As a food lover, wine connoisseur, and someone who has attended chef school, I can say with confidence that this location needs a serious revamp. The service itself was polite and professional, but the food, drink, and cleanliness simply did not compare, at best half the standard of other Hell’s Kitchen restaurants.
There were many empty tables, and now I understand why. Gordon, if you’re reading this, this Ibiza restaurant doesn’t live up to your name. It’s far below the level of your other locations, and as it stands, I wouldn’t risk trying another Hell’s...
Read moreWe visited in June of this year and as the first Hell’s Kitchen in Europe, we were beyond excited to experience it — especially for a pre-birthday dinner. The restaurant definitely delivers when it comes to decor and ambience; the space is stylish, dramatic, and fits the Hell’s Kitchen brand perfectly. Unfortunately, that’s where the excitement ended for us.
The lighting was extremely poor — a dark red glow that made it almost impossible to see what was on our plates. I was really hoping to capture some beautiful food shots, but the lighting made that impossible.
From the moment we walked in, the security presence was overwhelming. There were staff and guards everywhere, and they seemed to constantly watch us. One lady kept walking past and even looked directly at our plates several times — it honestly made us feel quite uncomfortable.
Although I speak English and my partner speaks Spanish (which we mentioned to the waitress), she chose to speak only in Spanish to my partner and completely disregarded me. My partner had to translate the entire menu, which made the experience feel awkward and unwelcoming.
The music was so loud that we could barely have a conversation, which took away from what was supposed to be a nice dinner.
As for the food — the prawn starter was disappointing, especially given the price point. The lobster risotto was fine, but not up to what I’d expect from a restaurant carrying the Hell’s Kitchen name. To make things worse, our seating was uncomfortable — the chairs were hard and not suitable for a long dinner.
Overall, while the venue itself is impressive, the experience didn’t live up to the hype. Between the poor lighting, uncomfortable seating, and lackluster service, I left feeling underwhelmed. Sadly, I wouldn’t...
Read moreWe were excited to try the first Hell's Kitchen in Europe and have mixed feelings about our experience. To start with the good things: we were running late from our reservation due to the lack of taxis in Ibiza town but they very kindly moved our reservation a half hour later. However, when we arrived they couldn't find said reservation and it was a bit of an uncomfortable moment. In the end they sat us down and from then on service was great. We got our drinks and dishes right away with very little time to wait. The atmosphere and the branding is on point, however, the music was too loud for our liking. We got the brioche and the croquettes to start. The croquettes were nice and meaty - very similar to a dutch bitterbal. The brioche was good, but not excetional, however the butter was probably the best I've ever tasted. At this point I have to mention the drinks, cocktails were amazing, highly recommend! The lobster risotto was really nice and fresh, but not a very big portion, which I liked. The beef wellington was good, but not sure if it's really worth the €64. The sticky toffee pudding was one of the best desserts I've ever had! All in all, it was a nice experience, but the food was a bit of a hit or miss, and at the price point, I'm not sure if I...
