Pizzeria La Salumeria — Restaurant in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Como siempre... debo ser sincero, ¿no?

Pues a ver... partimos de que las expectativas las tenía realmente altas. No paraban de hablarme bien, incluso muy bien, de este local. Más de una persona me declaraba que era la mejor pizza (o pinsa italiana) de Santa Cruz. Pues vale, esa era la premisa. De ahí partimos.

La verdad que no había acudido al local antes, porque no aceptan pagos con datáfono (solo cash, solo efectivo). Se justifican con que alrededor hay una red de cajeros, de diferentes bancos, muy amplia. Pues vale, OK. Cada uno gestiona su local como considere. Para mí... punto negativo. Pero tienen razón, hay una buena red de cajeros.

Normalmente hay dos camareros que atienden fuera, pues uno de ellos (creo que tenía coleta y era italiano) la verdad que fue tremendamente simpático con nosotros. Atención exquisita. Muy cercano. Luego, el otro, proyectaba una sequedad... tremenda. La noche y la mañana. Pero bueno, aquí venimos a valorar las pinsas, no si una sonríe más y el otro menos.

Pedimos dos pinsas: la especial de ellos y una con salsa pesto.

La tartufo estaba muy buena (tampoco para echar cohetes, la verdad), pero estaba buena. Para mí gusto le faltaba un poco de intensidad en el sabor... se quedaba muy plana. ¿A lo mejor un poco más de pimienta negra? No sé, pero le faltaba que fuera un poquito más sabrosa. Los productos se notaban que eran buenos: guanciale, trufa,... por eso me dejó un poco triste que no me gustara tanto. No fue una pinsa excelente. Tampoco llegó muy caliente (ahora entiendo los que piden a domicilio y les llega fría). Se trata de un producto que hay que comer, sí o sí, al momento.

Luego... la de pesto... mmmm... flojita, flojita. Muy pocos ingredientes... y, otra vez, muy plana. Se podía comer bien, pero no era nada espectacular. De precio estaba bien: menos de 10 euros. Pero... los ingredientes... escasos. Pudieron ser un poquito más generosos, creo.

Hay pocas mesas y el servicio intenta ser lo más eficiente posible... así que literalmente te recogen la tabla aunque tengas el último trozo de pinsa aún en la mano. Literalmente es así. Eso me molesto un poco. Entiendo que hay gente esperando... yo soy el primero que soy responsable y consciente de las limitaciones del local... y, por eso, no me voy a quedar a hacer sobremesa, pero... a ver... hasta cierto punto, déjeme masticar la comida... sin agobios. Y esto parece ser que es una práctica habitual del local, porque ya se lo he leído a otros clientes en el hilo de reseñas.

Mmmm, pues si sumamos todo... me fui con una sensación un poco agridulce. Pensé que iba a ser uno de mis sitios habituales, pero que va... las pinsas no son tan espectaculares como las pintan, solo se puede pagar efectivo y lo que digo de las prisas para que termines de comer. Es agobiante.

Actualmente hay mejores opciones...

I was very disappointed how (what I later found out was a boss) I was treated. I mean do one needs to flash an expensive car keyring to be treated like a decent human being? I have asked if I can use the bathroom and wanted to add before I order (It was that urgent,plus I am an amputee, which I didn't feel like bringing up to him at all), the chefe just looked down at me and say no only for customers but with a rude tone of voice like I am some homeless person,well not everyone who drives a 5 series wears a suit, just saying. No politeness whatsoever so I went to the bar and wanted to speak to supervisor (where I was told that this rude waiter was a supervisor). I told him I can't make myself to bring my custom there and went to eat next door to La Salumeria, which was a loooovely experience. And they even let me use the toilet before I...

The pizza gets a 5 star and the waiter and service as well, very crunky dough and different styles pizza, not your usual pizza like calzone or quatro formagi, but very good pizza. They don't have any type of sauce , like aioli. I'm giving 3 stars for the lack of attention to details, they wrote with a pen the prices over the original menu. There was no menu for drinks , you just have to know what you want or ask if they have it and therefore you cannot see the price for the drinks. As tourists we were a little worried that we might be scammed. The biggest issue was that we haven't been told from the begining that they only accept cash which nowadays is very inconvenient. Also the sourounding buildings were full of grafitti and shut down so not a nice view but if you want a good pizza and don't care about anything...
