Bar Alegría — Restaurant in Santander

OK, we are in Spain, and we don't speak Spanish. Less than ideal. We came into this bar at 4pm, I discovered afterwards that most kitchens close at 4pm. The older man that worked there was really not pleasant. He was very grumpy, and made us feel not welcome. We ended up eating a few on the small sandwiches on the bar and leaving. I stopped here for a coffee and a light breakfast around 9am on a Saturday morning. There wasn't a lot open and this was the first place I found that was. I'm happy it was though. It was a really nice local cafe, not a tourist cafe at all. The coffee was really good 👍🏻 and the warm croissant with nutty and jam also really good. Después de decirnos a las 3 de la tarde que teníamos que esperar media hora y aceptarlo, nos plantamos en las 5 de la tarde, en una mesa en la calle,soportando el aire y el ruido del tráfico, para que nos digan que ya no queda en el menú nada de lo que ponía. Comimos los dos primeros platos de lo que quedaba y a la hora del postre nos levantamos sin comerlo, porque se nos hacía muy tarde. Pedimos un helado o similar para llevar y no tenían. Después de más de dos horas, sin tener nada en el menú y sin comer postre, nos cobraron el menú entero y no solo no se disculparon, sino que nos decían que lo entendiéramos. Pues no, no entiendo que un lugar te diga que puedes comer en media hora y que sean dos y que luego no tenga nada de lo que oferta en el menú. En nuestro caso habrían tenido tiempo suficiente para haber hecho una paella. Le pongo una estrella porque no deja publicar sin ninguna. Nos fastidió todo el día en Santander pues perdimos ahí 3 horas. Luego vimos que hay mil sitios para comer mucho mejor simplemente dando la vuelta...
