Called in last night around 8.15pm without a reservation, got a decent table at the front of the restaurant.
Got a coupla ice cold beers really quick but the starters took a while - to be fair the place was packed and the phone was ringing off the hook.
Beware, the tables outside are smoking, so anyone smoking there and it blows back into the restaurant, courtesy of the breeze off the ocean.
We had a papdi chaat and paneer shashlik starter, both excellent.
Got a cheese nan and a spicy kulcha nan, both excellent again.
A small portion of tasty Madras curry sauce accompanied our main, the Tandoori sizzling platter.
This is where things started to go downhill.
The chicken tikka pieces were lovely, as were the prawns, but the shashlik sausage was dry and tasteless, the chicken legs were also dry and unappetising. The lamb pieces were very tough and lacked taste, felt like they had been reheated. Didn't really give the full tandoori flavour.
Shame really, as this is a decent place with good prices and service - nice location too.

Read moreOur visit to Delhi Darbar was a delightful experience with nice flavors and exceptional food quality. We tried the Chicken Tikka Masala and Spicy Chicken Mushroom, paired with plain rice, chapati, and garlic naan, and each dish stood out in its own way.
The Chicken Tikka Masala was rich and creamy, with a perfect balance of spices and tender chicken that melted in your mouth.
The Mushroom rice was nice.
The garlic naan was fluffy, fragrant, and packed with just the right amount of garlic, making it a perfect companion for scooping up the curries.
The chapati was light and soft, providing a more subtle accompaniment to the intense flavors of the dishes.
The plain rice was well-cooked, fragrant, and served as a neutral base to let the curries shine. The portions were generous, and the presentation added to the overall experience.
The service was attentive and quick, ensuring our meal was seamless. Overall, Delhi Darbar delivered on all fronts, and we’ll definitely be back for more of their incredible food.
Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic, flavorful...
Read moreOn top of the lovely view over the ocean towards La Gomera this restaurant showcased some of the nicest Indian food I have tasted.
I had 2 Vegetable Samosas for starters which were very full, well seasoned and cooked beautifully. My only small complaint with them is that as their bulk ingredient is potato it is potentially more of a starter to be shared between 2 (having 1 each). The filling is plentiful and tasty but perhaps a little much for some people having two of them.
For main I had Chilli Chicken with vegetable rice and garlic cheese naan. Every piece of the meal was excellent, the sauce was exceptionally tasty and the chicken was well cooked and still juicy with a nice amount of peppers mixed in.
The cheesy garlic naan was exceptional with a great amount of both and the vegetable rice portion was enough for 2 so I would recommend sharing a rice.
As for cost. Starters, mains, sundries and multiple drinks for 2 people for less than €60 is fantastic for the quality and portion sizes. I would recommend a trip for anyone staying in the area if you're wanting...
