Tasca Juanito — Restaurant in Santiago del Teide

After a few disappointing food experiences in Tenerife, we discovered this little local tavern—and it turned out to be a true gem. We loved it so much that we even went back two days in a row.

The kitchen is run by a Spanish woman, with her husband and son serving the guests. The son speaks fluent English, and the father communicates the essentials just fine. Both were extremely friendly and welcoming.

The food was excellent—fresh, homemade, and full of flavor. Even the fries were hand-cut, and the seafood tasted like it came straight from the ocean.

They offer a fixed menu plus a daily changing one. Prices are very reasonable, and the quality is outstanding.

There is always a great welcome for you at this bar. The tapas are delicious and home made. All food and drinks are at local Canarian prices, and not at inflated tourist prices that some larger establishments will charge.

In addition there are usually current daily newspapers in Spanish and English.

Juanito is family run business where we had great hospitality experience. We had almost every dish from the menu, one was better than the other.
