Let's get the good things out of the way right away. The food was fresh and I did enjoy it. Slightly overpriced but understandable for a very touristy location. Staff was friendly and the location is stunning.
Now onto the bad (very bad!): We had to wait one hour and forty minutes (yes, 1h40m!) for our meal (of grilled fish and mash potato, something that if you cook it for 10 minutes is probably way too much!). The dinner was brought to the table only after suggesting we'd pay for our drinks and leave. The owner (I presume) kept pushing the fact that there were many people, yet not even all tables were occupied.
But look, I understand, it can happen. To be honest, I was having a nice evening and I didn't't necessarily mind... until the owner said one thing that honestly changed everything. Instead of apologising for the wait and moving on with everyone's life, the owner said that "we should be more patient, after all the food is being made right in the restaurant". Like, do you think it's my first restaurant dinner? I never had to wait this long (or even half that long) for a meal and I'm Italian, where literally 99% of restaurants will cook everything fresh in-house. To wait is one thing, but to be told off by the restaurant owner for not being patient enough to wait 2h for a meal (and trust me, I have been nothing but kind and calm throughout this) is honestly not worth having dinner...
Read moreOver priced and over cooked. I've visited this place in 2017. It was excellent then. Tonight October 2022. Not so good. Unfortunately when a fish restaurant is no longer able to cook fish correctly it should stop. I've eaten in some expensive places, but at the end of the day it's the quality of the plate in front of me that counts. In this case, I have to be honest, it was all overcooked. The garlic prawns were bone dry and had far too much cheese in the sauce. Keep it simple with just garlic. The local fish was so dry it sucked up the mojo sauce. Just a few minutes on the grill, not hours! The chowder was awful. I can't begin to describe the sauce, tasted like fishy dishwater. Awful flavour, again the fish in the dish was totally destroyed. I saw another customer with the same chowder dish pull some terrible faces, unfortunately they seemed to know the owner, so just made polite comments. Its not cheap, I'm happy to pay for quality, but on this case. Over priced and over cooked. To cap it all they don't take card payment. Sorry but don't waste your...
Read moreYou need to bring cash, other than this, it’s a fine dining restaurant place, to eat a dinner, not snacks and children place. It doesn’t have too many tables to sit outside, so its not worth for someone to randomly occupy a sit with a coca-cola, because they have no time for this with this little amout of tables on terrace. You need to book a table at 20:00 the latest, because they don’t serve too late - you sit and drink with owner after the dinner. Very good food in fair prices, its hard to spend more than 50€ for two people, and the food and views are royal. Try local fish or halibut, great wines and olives. From the entry you know you are the owners guest and this is his place and its ran his way. The guy is direct person, some love it, some hate it. We find him funny and friendly, other waiter was also cool, fish was amazing, the best we had during our stay, and we loved his „medicine” (Canarian honey rum they pour for everyone), so we give it...
