I normally do not write negative reviews, but I am making an exception in the hopes that someone from the restaurant reads this and makes some changes.
The staff was great, no complaints there. But then the food arrived.
I ordered the calamari with 2 eggs and fries. Not a single thing on my plate was seasoned. This is not an exaggeration. The calamari was absolutely tasteless, and I didn't even think it was possible to make a tasteless calamari. The batter was soggy and had zero seasoning in it. The eggs were just eggs. No flavor of any kind. And then the fries, good God. Not even a grain of salt (this is not an exaggeration). They also were undercooked. Please bear in mind i mean actually under cooked, not soggy. I even picked one up and shook it. It flopped around like it had been soaked in water until it was soggy. And this is not an overstatement, I actually bent it until it was doubled over on itself and it was so soggy that the skin wouldn't break. I am really trying to convey this without being too harsh, but I have never had a more tasteless meal. I actually joked to my wife that this reminded me of the unseasoned meals they served at retirement homes, the ones my grandparents complained about constantly.
Then there was my wife's food. She ordered a cheeseburger. She ate less than half of the food on the plate and said she couldn't stomach anymore. I tried some. The "burger" had zero seasoning in the patty. The bun basically disintegrated so badly that we ended up using a knife and fork just to get through what we were able. The tomato was so unripe that about half of the slice was visibly green. We felt bad for the waiters, so we stayed as long as we could stomach it and then left and went right to another eatery.
I am really trying not to be overly negative here, but honestly exhaustion from jetlag, the recent heat wave and hours of driving across the country are the only reason I just didn't have it in me to complain. I just wanted to leave and go to sleep. Maybe others have had a better experience, but I have traveled extensively through Europe and I can say definitively that this is the worst meal I have ever had on this continent. The cook should be fired, there was no...
Read moreWe’ve tried a menu with soup, a traditional Segovian roast suckling pig and a traditional Segovian dessert(which was awesome), and a glass of wine for 25 euros. This was a lot of food. The soup was very strange and very delicious. After eating the pig I felt like a pig 😀 but yeah it was well-cooked and nicely prepared. Maybe not my type of food and if you don't like seeing real parts of the animal it's not for you but it's worth trying. The dessert was something I haven't tried before and I really liked it. One minus maybe is that the staff don't know a word in English but whatever it felt...
