I recently had the pleasure of visiting El Secreto de San Clemente restaurant in Segovia, and it was an amazing experience. This restaurant is located in the main square of Segovia, just a short walk away from the famous Aqueduct, making it a perfect location for lunch or dinner while exploring the city.
We had the traditional dish called cochinillo, and it was simply outstanding. The skin was incredibly crispy, and the meat was incredibly tender and juicy, making for a truly memorable culinary experience. We also had a three-course lunch that included a starter, main dish, and dessert, all of which were delicious.
The service was exceptional, and the staff went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. We were seated on the terrace in the shade, which provided gorgeous views of the Aqueduct, making for an unforgettable dining experience.
In addition to the outdoor seating, there was also a lovely indoor dining area that was air-conditioned, which would be great for a hot summer day.
The restaurant was extremely clean, and the bathrooms were spotless, which is always a plus when dining out.
Overall, I would highly recommend El Secreto de San Clemente restaurant to anyone visiting Segovia. The food, service, and location were all amazing, making for an unforgettable dining experience. The cochinillo was a highlight of our trip, and we will definitely be returning on our next...

Tourist review 🙋🏽♀️
📍The Venue: It’s a pretty spacious place with both indoor and outdoor seating, and it has a nice view of the aqueduct. The atmosphere is traditional and cozy.
🍽️What we ordered:
Burger (with matured meat): They didn’t ask how I wanted the meat cooked, and it came out quite raw inside. The meat was matured, so it had that intense flavor — I’ve tried this type before in other restaurants, but here it felt way too strong.
Judiones de la Granja: These were good.
Cochinillo al horno con patatas: Nicely prepared, but not really to my liking, and it didn’t feel very filling.
-Tarta de queso: Delicious! Definitely the highlight of the meal. 😋
The Service: Unfortunately, not good at all. We were waiting for an outdoor table, but when one opened up, the manager seated another couple who arrived after us. When we complained, she apologized and said she had forgotten. My husband later discovered there was a downstairs area with open tables, so after losing the outdoor one, we went there. 3.The waiter was kind but forgetful — he even forgot to bring the coffee we ordered after our meal.
💭 Final Thoughts: We should’ve gone somewhere else after losing our table, but we were starving. The food was average and the prices high. I wouldn’t return 🥲… maybe just for...
Read moreI was really excited to try this spot in Segovia and sit in front of the aqueducts, and it turned out to be a mixed bag. Turns out all the outside tables were reserved and the waiter struggled to find us a table inside downstairs even though many tables were empty.
The ham croquettes were incredible - they might have been some of the best I’ve tried in Spain. I also tried the shrimp and egg croquettes, but they weren't as memorable for me, mostly due to my personal taste/preference.
Unfortunately, the main courses didn't live up to the high point of the appetizers. My cochinillo burguesa was served cold and undercooked, and I had to send it back. My wife's oxtail also wasn't served hot, which made it feel less enjoyable. On top of that, the service was quite slow, making our meal feel rushed as we were on a tight schedule.
The overall experience was disappointing due to the quality of the main dishes and the...
