I had the absolute displeasure of dining at el cochifrito with my family recently, and it was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had.
First, the service was abysmal. We waited for over 30 minutes just to get our drink orders taken, and when the drinks finally arrived, they were wrong! Our waiter seemed completely uninterested in serving us, disappearing for long stretches of time and ignoring our attempts to get his attention. When we finally managed to place our food order, it took another 30 minutes for our meals to arrive, and when they did, they were lukewarm and clearly had been sitting out for a while.
The food itself was a disaster. The salad were missing ingredients. It was evident that no care or attention went into preparing any of the dishes. Additionally, the portions were small and definitely not worth the exorbitant prices they
I would not recommend el cochifrito to anyone. Save your money, save your time, and save yourself the...
Read moreThey served a mouldy croissant. Waiting staff avoided coming over when we pointed out the mould and also every time we asked for service. No effort to apologise or replace the mouldy pastry. Not sure why it's so bad, it is no cheaper than other places. Nice view of aqueduct and the shade umbrellas are good, but plenty of other, better food and service options are nearby. Maybe other meals are better but breakfast was a disaster: some of our group felt we could not eat there after mouldy food was served and the bill took so long to arrive our companions were very hungry by then. In the end, we literally had to stand up (as if to leave) for more than five minutes in order to get the bill. The ones who tasted the mouldy pastry by accident felt unwell afterwards. I don't like giving bad reviews, and I understand everyone makes mistakes but I will on this occasion because there was no communication from the staff and no attempt to remedy the problem and the...
Read moreExcellent food and service. We were a group of 13 students and 2 teachers from the US with no reservation for early lunch on a Saturday. However, Isabel and Vanessa welcomed us and accommodated us inside immediately. They went out of their way to provide a super service that made us feel welcome and happy to be there. Isabel recommended the cochinillo, the specialty coquettes and other traditional Segovian food. Everything was very good. We truly enjoyed our lunch and the good conversation with Isabel and Vanessa. El Cochifrito is a great place in Segovia for trying the famous cochinillo and having a good time. ¡Muchas gracias...
