We walked into Baco by chance, when I was craving for a glass of Jerez. We sat at the bar and started chatting with the server, this being early in the evening and still very quiet. He provided us with a great explanation of the different types of Jerez (sherry). On our leaving, we asked if they also served regular food, and he said of course, especially bacalao (salt cod), one of my favorite dishes. Accordingly, we went back a couple of days later, a Friday evening. The place was loud, happy, and teeming with local couples, families with children, friends after work, all having a really good time. We ordered the bacalao and it was indeed one of the best I ever had, tender and deliciously moist. This family-operated place gave us a wonderful insight into Sevilla life and we thank...

Very bad service. We came in to have a drink and at the entrence we were just asked how many of us we are (we were 4) and let us to wait around 10 min. In the end we were invited to sit upstairs where actually there is a lot of smoke and ordered some drinks. When to order for food, we said we would like some tapas only. Because of this the waiters started to be rude and asked us to go down with our drinks in hand (as upstairs is only for dinner) and just stay in the middle of the restaurant (there were no places at the bar or at tables below). I understand that they have a lot of costumers, but we were not asked at the entrance. I assume just because we are foreigners they want to tax us more (upstairs prices are...

We spent eleven days in Seville, and went to many fantastic restaurants. However, we came back to this establishment several times due to the outstanding food and service; incredibly professional staff, old world service. Attached are the veal special, and salad of the day (prawns). Both were fantastic. We also had a sea bass special on another night, and it was amazing. Most of the staff speak perfect English...not that it matters since everyone in Spain is very helpful/friendly.

Reviews looked very appealing but I was not happy with the food. Might be came to a wrong time and made poor choices by following the waiter recommendation s. Btw, I wanted fish paella and was told that none paellas are available at lunch time dispute their were in menu. Cod was prepared good; my wife enjoyed it after I tasted and didn’t like it. The biggest disappointment was either deep fried fish - it was hugely over salted. According to my wife, it was ok with bear
