Well that was disappointing. First time in Seville, first meal in Seville, and after reading the reviews I was looking forward to trying this place and perhaps visiting more than once, since it's right around the corner from where I'm staying and I'll be here for 10 days. I should say at the start that I was dining solo, and maybe that had something to do with the crappy service. Maybe the staff just doesn't like single middle-aged women dining alone. I can't really speak to the quality of the food as I only had one dish, which was fine (the roast chicken ensaladilla). Basically potato salad with chicken. I also ordered patatas bravas, but they never came. They had two rosados on the wine menu, and I asked for the one from Rioja (the other was from Ribera del Duero). The waiter proceded to tell me that Rioja is not a rosado but a red wine. I explained that they had a rosado from Rioja on the menu, and he told me I was wrong. I had to pull up their menu on my phone to show him, and he grudgingly showed that he understood what I wanted. I was then pretty much ignored throughout the rest of the meal, while everyone around me seemed to receive pretty great service. When it became clear that my patatas bravas weren't coming, I asked for the check, which included the patatas bravas so I had to ask them to remove it. The waiter threw the new check down on the table and proceeded to go to the next table to ask if they would like to check out, and brought them the card machine, despite my having had my card ready when he brought the check to me.
I've eaten solo at many restaurants around the world, and I think I have pretty reasonable expectations. It takes a lot for me to write a bad restaurant review. I'm just really sad that this was my introduction to Seville. I hope it...
Read moreWow, what an exciting discovery! There is a brand new restaurant in Sevilla that boasts two distinct styles of cuisine. On one hand, there is a tantalizing Japanese bar, and on the other, there are innovative Spanish dishes with a non-traditional twist. This is a foodie's paradise where you can indulge in the best of both worlds!
Let's talk about the Japanese bar first. The sushi is so fresh and flavorful that it will leave your taste buds dancing with joy.
Now, let's move onto the Spanish side of the restaurant. The non-traditional cooking style is truly unique and offers a refreshing twist on classic Spanish dishes. The roasted chicken is a standout dish that is cooked to perfection and seasoned with just the right amount of spices. The croquettes are another must-try dish that is creamy and flavorful. Carnitas tacos are a must try here! And the most surprising dish I had in months is that mushrooms with avocado mole sauce, to die for!!!!
In addition to the delicious food, the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere that is perfect for a romantic date or a night out with friends. The friendly and attentive staff make you feel right at home, and the chic decor is both inviting and sophisticated.
Overall, this new restaurant in Sevilla is a must-visit destination for food lovers. We requested normal tapas and ordered some rib eye steak. Mind you, we initially wanted the wagyu beef, but you have to order a minimum 800 grams of it, which wasn't mentioned or written anywhere.
Before the order came, we were served some bread which we didn't eat. Turns out, they'll still try to charge you for it as a "service fee". They also got our order wrong, which could happen, but they then said that the price was the same, even though we ordered a different dish.
When we received the bill, we completed the payment with cash and expected our change. The waitress took the money and never returned. We had to get her attention to ask for the change. But instead of getting the change, she said we needed to talk to the manager. (Terrible service). She simply assumed the money was hers to keep.
We spoke to the manager, who wasn't aware of what happened and we told the manager we were charged for dishes we didn't eat. They charged more than what we ordered. The person reluctantly got out his container with change and handed us back the difference owed.
The problem essentially is we were made to feel like we were begging for our own money. Disgraceful and felt like a tourist trap.
Would not recommend. But if you insist on going, make sure you're stern and pay a close eye to the...
