During my recent visit to Seville, I had the pleasure of dining at Bodegón Alfonso XII, a charming establishment that offers an authentic taste of traditional Spanish cuisine. Located conveniently near the Museum of Fine Arts, this restaurant provides a warm and inviting atmosphere that caters to both locals and tourists.
The menu is extensive, featuring a variety of Mediterranean and European dishes, with ample options for vegetarians and vegans. I particularly enjoyed the tapas selection, which included flavorful gambas al ajillo and a delightful paella. The portions were generous, and the quality of the food was exceptional.
The staff at Bodegón Alfonso XII were attentive and friendly, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Despite the restaurant’s popularity, especially during peak hours, the service remained efficient and accommodating. The prices are reasonable, offering excellent value for the quality and quantity of food served.
Whether you’re looking for a hearty breakfast, a leisurely lunch, or a satisfying dinner, Bodegón Alfonso XII is a fantastic choice. Its authentic cuisine, welcoming ambiance, and attentive service make it a must-visit...
Read moreInteresting alternative to waiting until the larger and more extensive restaurants open for lunch. We had a plane to make and had just finished at the Museum of Fine Arts. We had expected that the restaurant directly across from the museum would be opening at noon, but that was a mistake. 12h30 or 13h00. So, we took a chance and ate lunch here. We had the cheese and sausage tapas. We found the soft slices of sausage unappealing for us, but that was our first time with sausages like this. The cheese and slices of jambon were tasty. We had a coffee which was jumbo and delicious. We then ordered the pulpo plate with potatoes. It was a bit salty, and not as hot as we would wanted, but the taste, texture and flavors were really good. We also ordered the chicken plate. All was good and completely in keeping with the 45 euro price including two terrific glasses of Spanish Chardonnay.
Simple food. For us, we would pass on the tapas cheese and sausages, add gazpacho and feel like a really good meal...
Read moreAfterwork I was starving, really looking forward for eating some "tapas" and I got here in this little "Bodegón".
Food was alright it seemed home-made what is very desirable, I ordered 3 assorted tapas, "tipical spanish dishes" indeed:
Ensaladilla (best choice), Paella and Pork meatballs and actually they arrived in little time, what I really appreciate. However the service was the low-point and the reason why this place only gets 3 stars:
-They don't even bother to say a SINGLE WORD in English, I mean NOTHING..... 0 effort to understand tourists or english-speakers, just sayin' "No English, No English" like parrots, something that is not comphrensible nowadays knowing the fact that your restaurant is placed in a tourist-visiting area.
As I said, my meal was alright!!! I got my stomach pretty full with decent food, nevertheless the waiters there urgenly NEED to understand furthermore their local clients, they're paying...
