Han’s Korean Restaurant — Restaurant in Seville

Update 2025 It saddens me to update my review as this was once my absolute favourite restaurant in Sevilla and the best korean food I had eaten in my life. I have been visiting Han’s for long, since they were in La Buhaira. Unfortunately the quality has been progressively declining since they moved to the new location, each time worse. If you see the pictures I had posted you will find the chicken is no longer tender and crispyc the gimbap as lost its flavour and the tteokbokki has become more expensive and with less toppings (you can pay more to add them). They also used to give you a super delicious sweet potato with the entries but I understand things can change. It’s not about the price, it’s the quality of the food. Service was superb.

Was disappointed by the tofu stew, there was barely any tofu and even less meat. The kimchi rice was good but the egg was not runny. Finally the service was disappointing to say the least … I think they forgot about our second dish which came around 30 minutes after the first rice dish. Instead of acknowledging that they messed up, they tried to say that it’s normal that foods arrive separately (even though the tables that came after us were all served at that point) and even asked us if we ever had Korean food before (spoiler alert we have and have never seen such a mess up). They also tried to blame it on it being busy even though we arrived before the rush. It left a sour taste in our mouth to have them question us when clearly they messed up. El trato del gerente, el señor Barragán, fue muy cercano y amable. A veces, también su esposa, una de las cocineras coreanas, también nos atendía en servirnos ciertos platos si el marido estaba ocupado, era también muy amable y servicial.

El local dentro estaba muy fresquito, tenían dos aires acondicionados funcionando a pleno rendimiento y se estaba muy confortable. Algo imprescindible en Sevilla en esta época.

Los platos, increíble. Los entrantes eran muy curiosos, con el kimchi como estrella. Los he probado bastante más picantes, casi incomibles, pero en este restaurante tiene un punto mas bajito que me encanta. Muy tolerable. También sirvieron calabacín rebozado y unas patatas troceadas maceradas, que tenían un toque dulce. Repito, nada del otro mundo pero bastante curiosos.

También sirvieron gyozas con salsa tras el aperitivo. Esto ya sí que sí, exquisitas... Empezaba la fiesta...

El plato estrella del local: bautizado por mi novia como "el pollo naranja con frutos secos". Yangyeomchikin se llama. Una auténtica locura. Mezcla del picante típico de la cocina del país, y de un almíbar que le hace combinar a la perfección. Hasta el arroz que servían de guarnición estaba delicioso.

También nos dejamos recomendar por el gerente y pedimos unos fideos que eran transparentes. No se parecían en nada a los típicos noodles. Estaban también riquísimos. Ojo si vais con alguien que no le gusten los pimientos (como a mi novia) porque entonces no le encandilará. Pero si no sois tiquismiquis, os ánimo a probar esos fideos tan exóticos y coloridos. Este plato no tenía pique. Se llamaba Japchae Bap. A mí me gustaron bastante.

El vino blanco semi dulce que nos recomendó el gerente, estaba muy rico. Para los melosos como yo, ese sabor afrutado engancha. Pedidlo.

Nos quedamos con las ganas de comer su famoso postre de copos de hielo, judías dulces rojas, y leche condensada. Desafortunadamente por el covid-19, estaban desabastecidos. Esperamos poder degustar eso en nuestra próxima visita, porque en la primera vez que fuimos nos encantó un postre tan...
