Servers were very friendly (except possibly the guy at door). José was my main server, seemed passionate about his job and wanting clientele to have good gastronomical experience. He was very good with all customers. He made excellent suggestion for the tapas of the day (tuna). I took his suggestion for the main which was a shrimp dish with egg and pork bits. It was ok but the pork bits made it very salty. The wine was good (though I am not an expert) and came with tasty complementary green olives. The bread also came to the table unbidden and was very basic. I was surprised to see a charge for it on the bill but I think this common and is effectively a table tax. No biggie. The dessert was very good as well (chocolate cake and ice cream). The after-dinner liqueur on the house was a nice touch and very tasty (caramel flavoured something). Overall a very pleasurable dining experience for solo traveller. I highly recommend unless you are looking for veggie options, this is typical tapas bar in that regard. If you want the bill you will...
Read moreOk, this is by far my favorite restaurant in Sevilla! I've been living here for over 5 weeks now with my husband and have tried quite a bit of local spots. Most places are good and offer traditional tapas, but this place do too and adds a culinary twist to them. For example, their Pavías Bacalao (fried cod) is fried like a tempera (not a lot of batter and very clean tasting) served with this yummy sauce. We also got their house made stew - it's their famous Ibérico pork stew served with potatoes. We also tried their Setas (mushroom) with shrimp, jam and Bechamel sauce. They were all delicious!!! The place was full of locals the day after Xmas and all of the servers were friendly. We can't wait to come back here and try...
Read moreFood is kind of a hit or miss, even for ingredients in one dish. The mushroom with shrimp, egg and dried pork were excellent except that the “black” line of the shrimps were not removed. I know I was dining in a Michelin stars restaurant but this did ruining the sensation of the dish. It was not a pleasant experience to have “sand” in your mouth. Pork cheek in red wine was cooked to perfection. The meat was very tender. I am a big octopus fan but octopus salad here was not bad, but just okay. The biggest disappointment came from the ox tails. It was salty. The chef must be looking at something else rather than the amount of salt in his hand. Sangria...
