We were advised to go here, cause it was said to be very good. This was confirmed by most of the reviews. Having said this, we were warmly invited at the door and taken to a small table next to the kitchen. We took our time to choose from the menu wich was apparently not appreciated by the waiters. They repeatedly kicked the one empty chair on our table as if to distract us, were talking behind our back in the kitchen about us ( my Spamish is not good, but so much I could understand) and took the menu from my hand to point out something completly different, wich was not of our taste and much more expensive. Communcation was difficult, because unlike it was declared by the owner, no English at all was spoken. For me no problem; we're in Spain and I speak a little Spanish. Wat was worse, there was no will to communicate. After our 1st round of tapas, wich were quite good, we wanted to have another table, because the noise around us was so overwhelming that we were not able to understand each other. We made our wish clear, but then the waiters also refused to understand Spanish! It was clear they didn't want us in their establishment, maybe they hate Dutchmen, because that's what they were talking about behind our backs. With some difficulty we restrained ourselves, asked to pay and left to look for anotherplace where we were more welcome. It was an appalling demonstration of complete disrespect for the customer. If you're not in for a fight don't go there!
P.S. we thought we visited 'Dos de Mayo', but as I understood now from the other reviews, we ate at this neighbouring place....
Read moreI can’t recommend this place to tourists. We were supposed to be eating at the restaurant next door, but their wait staff seated us at this restaurant despite my protest. When we arrived at the restaurant next door no one was waiting, but we wanted to sit outside so we asked to be added to the waiting list. After waiting 15 minutes a table was free, but the waiter proceeded to give our table to someone else even after I pointed out my name was next on the waiting list. Instead of seating in the proper order they decided to seat us at this “sister” restaurant where we were served the most overpriced and tasteless meal we’ve had in our 3 weeks in Spain. The waiter assured me the menu was the same, but I’m not convinced. The sangria was watered down and our steak was cold and contained more fat than meat. The kicker is they tried to charge us for bread that we clearly told them we didn’t want and had not been touched. We actually handed the basket back to them, said “no gracias”, and they still brought out a second basket.
This was a sad way to end our trip in Spain, but thankfully this lackluster establishment is not typical of Spain. Everywhere else Spaniards have treated us very kindly and honestly. My recommendation is find somewhere else to...
Read moreExceptionally rude and abusive staff we had been shown to this restaurant by a waiter from the restaurant next door bar dose de mayo. These 2 businesses must be working together in some sort of con or trap. DO NOT VISIT THIS RESTAURANT.
The waiter from the restaurant next door showed us to this one where the waiters here wanted us to sit very quickly when we realised it was not the same restaurant the menus were different and not where we wanted To eat we picked up to leave. The abuse from the waiters because of this was really unpleasant, especially as we the same waiter tried this very same trick to 2 other couples as we were leaving I am hoping they did the same thing as us and leave
