Cantalobos — Restaurant in Seville

Our first impression of this restaurant was not great. There is no sign to indicate if you go in for a table or wait outside, so we went in and proceeded to wait in front of 2 staff who ignored us for 4-5 minutes (they knew we were there). I then thought maybe they weren’t open yet, so, we went back outside and checked, they were open but just didn’t acknowledge us. We walked away and came back 10 minutes later and the server didn’t acknowledge us again when she walked past us, so I asked if we could please have a table and this worked. The food overall was pretty good (the steak has to be a shoutout and I’d rate this 5/5), the eggplant was very bland, it had no flavour and texture was more as if it were boiled than fried. Awful experience. Upon arriving inside restaurant we were completely ignored. A female worker saw us and continued sitting at a table doing her book keeping and not even asking if we need to be seated. We asked if we could sit she just said sure without even leading us to a table.

One male worker was making drinks and serving all of the tables while the other staff was doing book keeping. It was therefore slow- she should have put customers first. The male server was nice and not to blame for the horrible food that was to come. The veal in the sandwhich was so chewy so they switched it for these chicken fingers which were raw in the middle. I’m so glad I cut them before as I could have gotten food poisoning. I did have to ask for this to be deducted but the waiter didn’t even ask first when I didn’t...

We had an amazing dining experience at Cantalobos! The food was absolutely exceptional—each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the creativity in the menu really stood out.
