We needed to wait 10 minutes for the table, and it was not a problem as we did not book the table. Finally, when we got to the table and ordered food and drinks, things did not go well for us. First of all, they brought cava and didn't bother to open it. Then brought plates and forks and we needed to share it ourselves. Then, instead of bringing starters, they brought the main dish for one of persons (we were four people together). We expressed concern, so they took it back. Then they broth the other two main dishes. No starters yet. Again we talked with them, they took it back and at some point brought starters. Starters tasted good. Unfortunately, it was a single good thing about that evening. Then they served the three main dishes again, and two of them were not good. They forgot the order of the fourth person. After asking about it, they prepared food in 10-15 minutes. However, that person ended up eating alone and the lamb was just a fat meat. Pretty bad, unfortunately. Even though the waitress asked after the dinner how did we like the food and offered us shots, as she could see we were not satisfied, simply so many things were too bad, that we said no to shots and left after paying for what we got. So far the WORST...
Read moreThe muscle bound, tattooed head waiter smirked when I asked for a riverside table, despite there being several free. He placed us by the exit instead (then filled those free tables with subsequent arrivals). Whatever… Small, dry bread rolls are served (no butter) with small bags of flavourless crisps of some kind, not unlike those handed out on short haul domestic air travel. We’ve taken to pointing to the menu item when ordering, as translation is often a problem in Spain; this lot still got two of our five orders wrong. Then, the lamb cutlets. Overcooked to the point of stale dryness, and so lacking in any substantial meat as to be mostly charcoaled bones, this dish may be the worst-prepared meal on continental Europe. I had to get up and fetch my own salt and pepper for the dozen or so fries (25 Euros). My partner quite liked the swordfish steak, though the centre was still raw. There was tension amongst staff and patrons, as I witnessed two other groups of dinners become agitated in dealing with the outwardly arrogant, dismissive waitresses. So many better options in this beautiful city (including most pubs and cafes) than this...
Read morePossibly one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever had the misfortune of eating in.
Firstly we were given bread that was crawling with ants. This immediately made us question the hygiene status of the restaurant.
Our food was delivered disconcertingly quickly and didn’t seem fresh. In addition, the cod was almost inedibly salty, the prawn omelette was slightly burnt, and patatas bravas were caked in synthetic sauces and seasonings.
We didn’t have plates, cutlery, salad dressings and despite asking serving staff, they never arrived and eventually we had to collect each of these items ourselves from the counter.
On paying, staff failed to ask if our meal was adequate, and instead gave us the wrong bill. When the correct bill was printed, they had the audacity to charge us for the bread! I mentioned to the staff member that the food and service had been “muy mal” but she seemed frustrated that I’d raised this, and gave no apology.
I really regret not informing a couple who arrived just as we were leaving, that the food was terrible and to get out while they could! I noted they also had to go in search of their own menu.
Lovely...
