Local Food Experiences — Attraction in Seville

Everyone was very nice. I reserved online months in advance and had selected the “verduras” option from the drop down menu since my partner does not eat seafood. The day of the reservation I received a text asking if I wanted to come “tomorrow” instead. I couldn’t because of already booked plans. They kept our reservation for the same day as planned. We get there and there was a group of 3 already mid way through eating. They sat us next to them and served us a plate of lukewarm seafood paella from the pot that had already been served. It was not good either. It was also seafood which isn’t what I selected. When I asked about it they made it seem like that’s all they offer unless someone specifies otherwise (which I had on my booking but of course my confirmation email didn’t specify so I couldn’t show them). They basically just said “oh well”. Maybe my expectations weren’t right but I thought this was supposed to be a dining “experience”? Where was the “experience” part? Again, everyone was kind and prompt but this went totally wrong for us. We ended up walking out and finding dinner elsewhere. AVOID!

I booked this tour in March for a June date. When I contacted the company via Airbnb for 13 people they asked me to book with their company (local food experiences) directly as a tour of this size had to be private.

At the time of booking I made them aware of our dietary requirements in the booking form and even had a back and forth with them about these dietary restrictions after they asked me to confirm them. They said this was fine

Then in May (two weeks before we are due to go on the tour) the company email me saying they are unable to accommodate our dietary requirements after all and that we had to pay an additional €290 for them to accommodate our requirements and only then would the tour be private, contradicting the previous communication we had on the booking.

I complained to the company but asked if there was another tour that we could do with the same company to avoid me having to cancel so close to our trip. They refused to be at all helpful or even suggest an alternative tour. They have cancelled my reservation and have yet to refund me the money and said this would take up to two weeks so I am unable to book an alternative ahead of our trip. Really poor...

This was a fun activity to do. Learn about paella and to watch it being cooked. It was well done and was interesting to watch and chat about it, the food was yummy and the setting was perfect. Roof top terrace and beautifully set out. I found it a bit difficult to book the experience and on emails a lot was lost in translation I believe. But was all booked and it went well. You do have to wait outside till they come and get you which was a bit odd. The people were nice but not really friendly… it was free wine and beer throughout the experience however, we kept having to ask for more and then they didn’t really replenish all the guests so we were constantly having to request more which was a bit tedious.
