Lola por Dios Alameda — Restaurant in Seville

Our first stop of our evening. It was a busy spot and the food was good (tuna croquettes were great) but we were charged for things we didn't order (check your bill) and charged €6 per sangria which is way overpriced, I recommend going elsewhere along the Alameda de Hércules for that. Lots of other great spots along the strip that we stopped for drinks and food throughout our night which were lower priced. I mentioned the cost of sangria to a bartender in another bar and he said that was way too much and I agree. I haven't paid more than €4 for a sangria since arriving in Spain 7 weeks ago. 2 stars is for the decent food and atmosphere.

EDIT: After the response from the owner I have adjusted my rating because he was right and the place was busy enough for mistakes to happen. To the owner: You are right, mistakes do happen and it seems to be a custom in Spain to bring things to the table that is not ordered by the customer and then charging for it. That is not a critique, simply different service style than I am used to as a North American, your establishment is not the first place I have encountered this issue of being charged incorrectly. The reminder to check your bill is an accurate suggestion for tourists in Spain as these kind of mistakes do happen and no one wants to pay for things they didn't eat or use. As for the sangria, I have been to only three places that did not make the sangria fresh and I can confirm that because I have literally watched the bartenders make it either in front of me or from my table. To be fair though maybe you use higher quality ingredients than those other places, or maybe your costing is just different, in either case I don't recommend getting sangria at your establishment as the cost is higher than what you can find elsewhere and tastes the same. Based on your response I would also say that tourists are not well welcomed at your business and that you think anyone who wants to enjoy sangria in the country of its birth is an idiot. I enjoy sangria because its delicious and refreshing but I understand that it may not be a common thing for local people to drink. I wish I enjoyed sherry but thats just not something I have been able to adjust my tastes to. To be fair we did hit up one other spot near the Catedral that charged the same price for a glass of sangria so a suggestion to other tourists is to avoid drinking it in "tourist" spots, we found it for much cheaper a few...

Lamentable atención. Sitio nada recomendable.

Hoy, lunes 14 de julio de 2025, fuimos al Bar “Lola Por Dios” a almorzar y la experiencia fue una auténtica vergüenza. Estuvimos más de 20 minutos esperando a que nos atendieran. Cuando por fin conseguimos pedir las bebidas, pasaron otros 20 minutos y no llegaron nunca, a pesar de haberlo recordado varias veces.

Nos pusieron una tapa sin bebida, mientras veíamos cómo el camarero (un chico de pelo moreno) atendía a otras mesas que llegaron mucho después que nosotros. Su única respuesta fue que “estaban desbordados”, cuando apenas había 8 mesas con 2 personas cada una. Eso no es estar desbordado, es simplemente desorganización y falta total de profesionalidad.

Nos fuimos sin consumir absolutamente nada, dejando la tapa en la mesa porque no íbamos a comer sin bebida. Y no fuimos los únicos: otras mesas se levantaron indignadas por la pésima atención y la actitud del camarero.

Un sitio así no merece estar abierto al público. Ni volveremos ni lo recomendamos.

Después de la respuesta del “propietario”. -En primer lugar aprende a escribir! En segundo lugar opino del pésimo servicio , en ningún momento hablo de la comida! Y en tercer lugar creo que si hay alguien que le falta vergüenza y educación es a usted! No me extraña que con un jefe o encargado así los camareros presten ese servicio tan pésimo! En lugar de pedir disculpas solo se pone a insultar y a faltar el respeto! Parece que si no mostramos el ticket estamos contando mentiras! Llevarás 11 años pero no tienes ni idea de gestionar un negocio! Y puedes tener por seguro que todo lo que sube también baja! Para su información ya había comido varias veces allí, sin que el servicio fuera de 10, pero lo del otro día fue ya de vergüenza ! Tenga por seguro que me habéis perdido como clientes y puede tener por seguro que no seré el único ni el último que perderéis! Alá a seguir con la chuleria!! Vas a llegar muy lejos !!

You can eat and drink like royalty for extremely fair prices at this awesome spot. If you wanted to, you could spend under €10 per person here and have a great experience. But you’re better off splurging and you’ll still only spend like €15 per person. The food is delicious. The spicy fried quail, Russian salad, whatever you order, you can’t go wrong. The vermouth was top notch. Try the orange vermouth. The wait staff was so friendly and service was quick, but they do not rush you at all. Really great atmosphere, it would be impossible not to be happy while dining and drinking here. If I was a local, I’d come here at least once a week. A must visit establishment...
