This place has a cute atmosphere and the server was nice, but oh my god my meal was awful. I realize this is probably because I’m used to “American” breakfasts, so this review is for others who might be used to that as well. I had the salmon eggs Benedict. Salmon lox was the overpowering flavour, the avocado and egg both didn’t even have salt or pepper. I could have dealt with this, but the egg was cold and so runny it didn’t even look cooked. It tasted like it was microwaved for a few seconds. I expected to have a decent amount of hollandaise sauce, but it had such a small amount of flavourless greyish goop, not nearly what the meal needed to give it some flavour. My friend ordered the salmon bagel and luckily it didn’t have egg and had some capers for flavour, so 1 star for the bagel, 0 stars for the Benedict. If you’re used to Canadian/American breakfasts only go here if you are starving and stay away from...
Read moreWe went for brunch when it was very quiet and ordered six sandwiches that require almost no prep or cooking time. The waiter warned us that it would take a little bit longer, 10 to 15 mins, but it actually took over 40 minutes, almost one hour. All the orders came at different times and five out of the sandwiches came wrong, we ordered salmon with avocado and it came without avocado, and the avocado toasts (as they were written on the menu) came without avocado too. We ate the orders anyway because we were tired of waiting so long.
The food was not really good to make up for the inefficient services. It was just plain bread and the portions were not really we served. I don’t understand how the kitchen can take 40 minutes to slap mozzarella, tomatoes and arugula on pre-sliced bread. The service was kind, but...
Read moreDO NOT MISS THIS PLACE! On the way to the busy streets of Triana, you pass Mondo, which looks inconspicuous but it's a world of amazingly cheap tapas that are an explosion of flavor. The anchovy and sardine tapas have a great balance of salty on top of a cracker that gives it an extra crunch. The gyozas were so tasty I couldn't stop thinking about them for the rest of the night. The yellow rice was perfectly cooked and was just enough to leave space for the amazing dessert.
The owner is so sweet and the prices are outrageously cheap for the quality you get.
This restaurant is so different from all the others trying to get the tourist €€€. It's truly authentic...
