Restaurante Veganí — Restaurant in Seville

Eh, if you're english speaking and from a relatively globalised city, why bother?

Food The food tastes good and is well made. But is not good value for money, even by standards from more expensive locations. The smashed potato and broccoli salad for example, is basically a potato salad (mayo, potato, few herbs).

The single slice of marinated aubergine was embarrassingly bad value and not very tasty.

The stroganoff and cous cous were very tasty. We could not try the croquettes as they had run out.

Service Hit and a big miss. We had two waitresses serve us on 7 October. One was very lovely, but the other (lady with short hair and tatts) asked us where we were from then was flat out rude and impatient for no reason, and gave us stink eye for where we sat even though we had been seated by the first waitress (apparently we sat at the wrong table of 2 identical vacant tables). They were not particularly busy.

As someone who worked in customer service, I understand you get busy or are not always cheerful, but there is no other way to describe this person as other than haughty and rude. It felt quite grating as we were in very friendly and relaxed mood, certainly not rushing things or being difficult, as we had some good news that same day! 🙂

Atmosphere I should have taken a photo, but think white walls, stark fluorescent lights and minimalist design. I think they had some plants but i was not facing this way. Not the worst, but not my vibe, not so inviting!

Feb 2025 Couples At the time of writing, I believe Vegani is the only fully vegan evening restaurant in Seville. Being vegan,I wanted to try it out on a city break to Seville

I went on a Thursday evening On arrival at 8:45pm it had the ambience of a canteen. The lighting was bright and white, not the setting for a romantic meal. The menu consisted of 12 non-descript items, including "greens", "beans", "cous-cous" and "breadcrumbs".

And the prices were not cheap. I think the "greens" cost €20

To be honest, at that point, both I and my partner were seriously considering walking out. But, as it turned out, that would have been a huge mistake

The food was exceptional. Every dish was delicious. Really delicr The menu does not do the food justice.

The atmosphere gradually changed as the evening progressed when it became busy. But, in my opinion it would be much better with low lighting and maybe candles or lamps on the tables.

Also, it would help if there were more descriptive names of the dishes on the menu. I turned down cous-cous, but the dish, when it was served to the next table, looked stunning and generous in size.

Lighting and menu listings aside restaurants are about the food, and the food at Vegani was outstanding It's not cheap, but it is very creative. and top quality in content and presentation.

Was really looking forward to dining at Vegani but it really turned out to be a huge disappointment . I had brought some members of my family and they were hyped too but I felt bad after our dining experience

Food - generally lacked flavor. We asked for black pepper or chilli oil to add flavor but only got black pepper ( even that only a small portion not enough for table). We try smashed, yuca, beans, basket of bread and croquets. Bread was really really good but everything else lacked flavor

Service - waitress was trying to convince us to order multiple items of each as portions were small. She was doing her job but we first wanted to taste the food and ordered only 1 of each. She seemed annoyed as to why we were not ordering multiple servings of each. That gesture did not sit well with us. I understand she was doing her job but must trust the customer when ordering. So big disappointment in service. When we asked her for description again, she seemed disappointed

Ambiance - OK nothing outstanding

I have been to several vegan and vegetarian restaurants on my trip to Spain and liked them all. This was probably my worst experience and unfortunately would not recommend this restaurant to my friends I hate giving poor reviews but unfortunately this place does not deserve good rating based on...
