Restaurante Bacchus — Restaurant in Teguise

We enjoyed the lunch menu recently, 3 courses for €11.95 per person 12:00-18:00. Having called the restaurant in advance they don't take bookings for lunch, and it wasn't a problem to get a table inside on arrival at 13:00. If you prefer to eat on the terrace, get there early as most were taken.

There were 4 of us dining and we all enjoyed the food. Unlike a typical menu del día, a drink wasn't included. A glass of house wine or beer was €2.50.

I had food envy from a neighbouring table as I really wanted to try the lamb with chips and gravy (next time!), but being good I went with sardines with wrinkly spuds and mojo which were tasty. The prawn cocktail starter was a good sized portion served with apple and orange which was a nice combination. The chocolate cake was divine!

To be honest, the menu offers some really good options we were struggling to decide which to try on our first visit.

In summary, this restaurant offers great value and a beachfront location on the promenade and main beach of Playa...

Called for a drink and asked if we were allowed to smoke at the furthest table away from everyone eating - we were told by an older guy, no - but you can sit on old bench 20 metres away - so we did. 5 minutes later locals were sitting on the same seats where we started off at, all smoking and laughing and joking with the guy who told us we couldn't smoke there. I get that people don't like people smoking which is why we asked AND moved - but then to see this, we were incredibly pi$$ed off - never again will we set foot in Bacchus - 1 rule for you, another for us. Hope this review teaches you a lesson in customer service - and your beer was meh too. Walked a few metres up to Jable bar and got first class service - maybe you should...

We were given a table which was set as we were sitting..not a great start then waited 10 minutes before our drinks order was taken food order was 10 minutes after that then waited 40 minutes and the waitress came to take our starter plates away but we hadn't bern served our starter total wait 45 minutes for a starter of garlic bread..our main meals of fillet steak and chicken were both over cooked. When we asked for our bill surprise surprise it didn't come and we had to ask again. Service at this restaurant isn't good and the food only slightly better. If you have plans for after you've eaten don't eat here your plans...
