Wonderful restaurant. We asked some locals where the best place to eat steak was and a few pointed us this way (including another restaurant who did steak!) my partner had a t-bone and I had a ribeye. Some people have mentioned language barriers with staff? I don’t know if they have changed staff but the guys who served us spoke good English and even questioned if my partner was sure he wanted a t-bone to himself as it was 1.5kg of meat for one person! (I also think you should remember that English is not their first language and perhaps tourists should try and learn a little local lingo if you wish to communicate well, why people expect everyone to speak English I don’t know. Yes it makes it easier - for us who are visiting but I don’t know why you would mark someone down for not speaking fluent English when they are not in GB. I dont speak Spanish for the record and I highly appreciate the efforts these small businesses put in to be able to communicate and gain sales from tourists by learning our language. It does shame me and I am trying to learn some Italian for my next holiday to Italy)They showed him the cut from their fresh meat fridge, they even weighed it in front of us. They sear on the grill which you can view through a glass window. They then bring to your table with a griddle pan that has a flame under it so you can cook to your exact specification yourself which was perfect for us as we like our meat different and tried a little of each. Steaks were served with the best chips we have had. Skinny type fried but they were delicious cooked with green peppers. My partner loved them as did I. After our meal, we were given a free bottle of lemon cello (I think as a well done!) my partner had already devoured a bottle of wine so a bit tipsy after but not too bad. The chef had come out to check the meat was to our satisfaction during the meal and I think the owner was very gracious as he happily posed for a photo with my partner even though by this time it was busy and he was also cooking food. The service was great, the food was excellent and there was no rush to move us on so they could do another cover at our table as you get in popular restaurants. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys good food. If we go back to Lanzarote this will be our...
Read moreThis is a real Canerian restaurant , the Tapas bar is great if you just want a few small plates and a glass of wine. We as a party of 8 had to book a couple of days ahead.
Dont be put off by the €50ish price of the beef cuts and ribs itll feed 4 people for a couple of hours along with some small plates and some wine. Once you've chosen from the wide range of beef cuts from Aberdeen Angus to Argentine sourced rare beef and other really well aged and dark beef cuts/ribs, you'll get the joint seared over the char grill and then bought to your table where you can slice off pieces to finish to your own liking on the table top self cook grill. So you can take your time no rush the table is yours for the night( in the restaurant side not the tapas bar.
My party of 4 adults and 4 children ( teens) just let the owners decide a selection of small plates and they just kept bringing them out 6 to 8 at a time for a couple of hours of grazing drinking and chatting. The place was mostly locals and this was obviously the place where the real food happens and although the bill was around €230 it was money well spent on completely satisfying us all. I'm defo going again but I may leave the teens back in the all inclusive restaurant in the hotel so they can satisfy their cheeseburger chips and turkey twizzler cravings while I smash myself into a beef and...
Read moreWent there tonight and the only disappointment was they didn't have the Argentine steak. I begrudgingly went for the mixed grill and my wife, of course, got what she wanted. The ribs.
The mixed grill was absolutely delicious. Every morsal of meat was cooked to perfection and the chips/fries were beyond fried perfection. My wife's pork ribs fell off the bone.
The interior is full of memorabilia and I was fascinated by the display of old cigarette packs.
But the highlight of the night for me was the location of our table. We were sat right in front of the grill area and I spent the majority of the night watching the chef cook the meats in such a cool style.
For dessert I had the rum and raisen ice cream and my wife had ice cream and chocolate fondant. Both incredibly perfect.
All this was accompanied by two glasses each of a crisp dry white wine.
This is an amazing restaurant. DEFINITELY worth a visit.
And for what we had? Very...
