Restaurante Alingui — Restaurant in Torrevieja

Do not eat here. Don’t ignore the bad reviews like we did. The staff were very rude and seemed like they hated being there. Our two guests ordered pork dishes and were somewhat happy with their food.

I ordered a sirloin steak cooked “medium” my partner ordered a rib eye “medium rare”. When the food was brought out two waiters argued about which one was which. Our original waiter took my partner’s plate away and said it was wrong. He walked to the kitchen then came back with the same steak rearranged.

Both steaks were so over cooked they were like leather. We said it to the waiter and then all the staff started yelling across the restaurant angrily at each other, pointing at us. We already felt embarrassed to have sent it back but it was tough as leather and inedible. Every time the staff walked past our table we got side eyes and mean looks. Finally replacements came out. Our guests had already finished eating their pork dishes. This time the steaks were barely seared on the outside AND TOTALLY RAW inside. My cat wouldn’t even eat that! Disgusting.

We ate the fries, attempted to eat the steaks but they were just too raw. We left after eating only a few fries, and still paid the €85 bill. We felt so intimidated by the aggressively rude staff that we wouldn’t dare speak up again.

Terrible experience. Avoid...

My wife & my selections of camembert starters were lovely - Good start we thought! Unfortunately my main dish of pork knuckle was overcooked but worse of all, the chips & salad we're saturated & swimming in fat & in my opinion totally inedible. I asked if the chips could be changed because of their poor condition but the male 'waiter' rudely walked away. I then showed a female attendee, who brought me a portion of chips on a separate plate. Having finished our desserts the bill arrived with a charge for the replacement chips & two 'takeaway' containers - Of course we complained & waited while the staff summoned what seemed to be a higher member of staff, who we recognised from our past visits over the years. He came to our table & said "You should of asked to change" I politely replied I had asked staff to change on two occasions! Eventually the chips were taken off the bill, as was the overcharge for the 'takeaway container'. The wooden box containing the revised bill was then thrown, with distain onto our table!!! Sorry to say, it's definately not the Alingui of old - Staff, service or food! My choice, my money & I'll be spending it...

Lost for words really. Normally visit at San Luis which is always excellent in all respects. Customer service was chaotic at best, rude staff & one was yawning. As a party of 3, one had an acceptable pork main on the menu of the day. The other two found their offering inedible. Of the mixed beef & chicken the latter was cold & appeared to have been salvaged & added last minute. The stroganoff was too tough to chew. The plates were removed thereabouts untouched with a complaint at the time with no apology or offer of alternative. Two of three of us received postre, the third being overlooked. When presented with the bill I asked to speak to a staff who spoke English in order to register our concerns in respect of food safety in addition to general unacceptable service. Suddenly nobody seemed to speak English in spite of earlier appropriate conversation. Yes the bill got paid but without acknowledgement of our compaint let alone apology for a very dispappointing evening. I highly recommend nobody else visits this branch but equally strongly recommend the superiority of San Luis which at least has clean toilets...
