A true hidden gem. Totally local - our family of 4 were the only tourists on a busy Saturday night. The food was fantastic and the service great. We communicated with the owners through gestures and my broken Spanish, and it was fun. The food was excellent - best paella we had in Valencia. The restaurant is small - looks to be fewer than 20 seats so reservation is a must. The Paella Valenciana has to be reserved in advance - we sadly missed out, but the other paella options were delicious.

The owner seemed keen on his wines we had a delicious Godello and Chardonnay and then via Google translate he suggested a fabulous Malvasia from Valencia. What a wonderful experience ! #cabanyal

Am unsure where the high ratings are from as I didn't have a good experience with this restaurant... I wen t there, admittedly without a booking, and was refused seating - despite the fact that there were no customers. The owner wagged a "Reservation" tag in my face which I still found bizarre given that it was also not mealtime anymore. I then asked if I could get it as a takeaway and was bluntly told that this wasn't an option either. Left a bad taste in my mouth and I can't in good faith recommend this to other tourists. Oh, yeah, and no English service as other reviewers have pointed out... the conversation all had to take place on...
