Edit after answer from restaurant: Your response is quite accusatory and full of discrepancies in regards to what truly happened. As I said very clearly, please read again below, we asked to go outside and were kindly relocated outside quite quickly. There was absolutely no issues there. We ordered water right away, still while inside. Once again, as explained below, we then ordered drinks and guacamole as soon as we sat outside. Then drinks and the guac were served, in a timely manner, and I asked questions about tacos and let them know I would make a choice and order. And THEN no one came to see us ever again!!! Once again, and again, as stated in the review below: WE TRIED to order during this 45 min POSTERIOR to being served the guac, drinks and asking questions about menu. WE SIGNALED servers SEVERAL TIMES and got acknowledged, but nobody ever came back. Get your facts straight, please, because all you are doing here, now, is making a bad experience escalate and worsen even more.
What a disappointing (and frustrating) experience we had there…… July 11, 2025, in the afternoon. We went to El Huey with a craving for tacos, and we left frustrated and HUNGRY.
Being autistic, I couldn’t stand eating inside between two big groups as it was quite loud (I think the way the restaurant is made makes it worse). I was about to meltdown, starting to try and self soothe and cut a but of sound with my fingers (I had forgotten my Loop earplugs at the hotel). So we were kindly relocated outside.
Once outside, I started to slowly resuscitate. We ordered something to drink and the guacamole right away. They brought it, and that was the end of their service to us. We were NEVER served again, even though I had clearly expressed the desire to order tacos after the guacamole. 30 min passed, my husband stood up and signalled several people of the staff who never came outside even though having acknowledged his signal. After 45 min I finally went to ask if I could pay, since I was SO HUNGRY, and quite angry at this point.
In order to be acknowledged and finally pay, I had to stop a server and almost scream my inquiry to pay. I was stunned.
I did explain two servers, while they were preparing the machine, that I would’ve very much liked to eat, as I was still very hungry, but that no one deigned to come and serve us. Total indifference was their reaction.
My take on this whole situation: if they have big groups, your small party will not be met with good service, or even food… The food does look amazing–clearly the reviews and pictures demonstrate so. Unfortunately we did not have the chance to taste anything else...
Read moreOn Tuesday, June 17, we went to Huey as we usually do, but unfortunately, the same thing happened again as in previous visits. For the past three months or so, the atmosphere at the place has noticeably worsened due to the behavior of someone who appears to be the manager. This person frequently causes unpleasant scenes in front of customers: yelling at employees, throwing things, and creating a very uncomfortable environment.
On another occasion, we witnessed an employee mistreating a female coworker, which shows that this kind of behavior is becoming more frequent.
During our most recent visit, my wife decided to speak up about the manager’s behavior and asked him to show respect to both customers and his staff. His response was completely inappropriate—he told her that if she didn’t like it, she could leave the way she came in. What kind of attitude is that?
We definitely won’t be returning. Since this person arrived, the place is no longer worth visiting. It’s truly a shame to see something we once enjoyed deteriorate like this. I do not...
Read moreWe had some expectations about the place… but we were really disappointed Something as simple as nachos take almost half an hour to arrive. And all the time we were waiting there for the food the waiters and cook were chatting and laughing as if there was no one in the restaurant waiting When the nachos finally arrived they were more cheese everywhere than any other ingredient. Be careful because we “added meat” to the nachos (expecting something like chili con carne) but no! They came with chicken! When asking the answer was that the nachos came with “meat of chicken”… 😳 when in the menu it says clearly the word: “carne” (meat in Spanish) no “pollo” (chicken in Spanish) First time ever I hear something like that! First and...
