El Racó de la Paella — Restaurant in Valencia

No response when I tried to email for a reservation. I tried to go anyway. I arrived at 13:30 as only 1 person, but was turned away very impolitely.

I asked if I could come back at a different time, or order take-away, and he said no, they're totally full - even though I saw that half the tables at the restaurant were empty at the time. I have a hard time believing that they can't even do a takeaway dish within 30 minutes of opening.

The man who responded to me was very rude to me about this, with an unpleasant expression and impatient attitude, even though I had helped two people (presumably staff, since they came from the kitchen and asked me to close the doors after them too) carry out big plates of paella while I was waiting waitstaff to notice me. With Guillermo directing the staff, our meal was excellent. Really friendly and detail-oriented customer service. Lovely cozy Restaurant with excellent food typical from Valencia. Regional cuisine options for tapas, as esgarrat or croquetas de bacalao. Paella valenciana de pollo y conejo which is passed on through generations. The taste of paella was soft and delicate, which is something to be appreciated in these times when paellas have been modernized and the flavours tend towards exaggeration or heaviness. Need reservation to go there!!! A must. But we were lucky enough to have a spot at the entrance of this beautiful place. The atmosphere is amazing! Everyone looks happy and relaxed. I believe the manager let us stay and eat. Paella Valenciana was not available at the time because it takes like 90 min to prepare, but that did not stop us from eating the seafood one!!!
