Gontier Bar — Restaurant in Valencia

This was the first restaurant that I went to upon arriving in Spain with my child. Every time I was about to ask a question to the waiter he did not have time to answer me and rushed to another customer. After repeated attempts to order, waiting at least a 1/2 hr, he told me that he can order for the child but not for me since the cook is now leaving. Why would we sit down and only order 1 meal while the other person doesn't get a meal? I told the other lady behind the bar what had happened. She had agreed that this wasn't right but there was no action taken. As my first experience in Valencia, and as the only black woman in the restaurant, It left a horrible taste...

Después de visitar varias veces el local, sintiéndolo mucho, y por lo que parece que se viene (cierre). No vuelvo. Hice la Reserva un día antes y cuando llegamos no tenían nada de la carta, y cuando digo nada. Es literal. Tres/cuatros cosas contadas. Le pregunté..¿vais a cerrar? Y me dijo..pues estamos ahí ahí. Y no me refiero a cerrar en hora. El día que reserve hubiera preferido que me dijeran que no tenían la carta disponible, porque dije que iba a cenar. Y al llegar al lugar me dijeron que llevaban una semana sin varios alimentos de la carta. Ni así, nos dijeron nada. No nos fuimos por la hora que era.. La comida baja calidad, gracienta. Nos pusieron jamón en las croquetas y venía con moho. La foto del jamón es el segundo jamón que nos trajeron. informamos al camarero, lo reviso, lo retiro porque tenía moho y nos trajo esos tres pedazos a posteriori. Venían cortados, con aceite de oliva y como un tipo de sal. Mi acompañante y yo..estuvimos mal del estómago nada más salir de ahí. El camarero hizo lo posible por hacer la experiencia buena. Pero ni así pudimos disfrutar de lo que comimos. No tienen carta de vino disponible. Si quieres ir a tomar cerveza perfecto. Pero ya está. Solo pudimos cenar patatas. Croquetas y torreznos. Son platos que pedimos normalmente, pero esta vez la calidad era pésima. De principales no había nada. O eso nos dijeron

Y respecto a lo que expone de que no siempre se tiene el producto. Es entendible. No obstante. No ponga excusa con el tiempo. Porque lo que se nos informó fue que llevabais días sin tener parte de la carta. Tenéis una pared llena de sugerencias y no había ninguna disponibilidad de lo que ponía ahí. El camarero lo hizo lo mejor que pudo. Y se desenvolvió con lo que tenía. Lamentablemente lo que comimos no tenía buena calidad. Sino observé las fotos de nuevo....

We stopped in this bar by chance. We had just had appetizers at an oyster bar down the street and it was raining so we popped in Gontier bar. We were welcomed and seated right away. Their menu is available in four different languages and they have a range of foods available. Looks like a good place for a snack, but we got the hamburger and fried squid and complimentary spanish olives. They have a wide selection of drinks, especially gins and wines and several beers on tap. The food was delicious and the short-haired woman who served us was friendly...
