There are dining experiences so forgettable they scarcely warrant mention, and then there are those so appalling they demand to be recorded, if only as a warning to others. This was, regrettably, the latter.
We arrived at this so-called taqueria to find a sign declaring an opening time of 12:00. At 12:30, we stepped inside, only to be met by a man whose demeanor could charitably be described as hostile, barking that they were closed and we were to wait five more minutes. Most would have turned on their heel. We, in a moment of misplaced optimism, waited.
When they finally deigned to open, we hadn't so much as crossed the threshold before this same man began shouting at the incoming patrons to line up and be ready to order — as though we were unruly cattle in need of breaking. Hunger bested sense, and we stayed.
What followed was a performance in abysmal hospitality. We ordered a pair of tacos, a costra de queso, and, absurdly, paid extra for sauces — a practice I’ve not encountered in any respectable taqueria. The food arrived swiftly, but the sauces did not. When requested, the waitress demanded a receipt to confirm we had indeed paid for them, delivering them with a scowl that suggested our mere presence was an affront.
As for the food: greasy, dry, and profoundly uninspired. It takes a certain talent to strip tacos — one of the simplest and most joyous of dishes — of all pleasure. They managed.
I find myself mystified by the glowing reviews this establishment boasts. My experience aligns perfectly with the handful of recent negative accounts that have begun to appear. A pattern, it seems, is emerging.
Yes, it is cheap. But bad service is bad service, and no price point can excuse disdain for one’s patrons. There are places where simplicity and affordability coexist with warmth and decency. This, emphatically, is not...

After visiting TKO Tacos twice during our time in Valencia, I can confidently say this spot punches well above its weight. It’s rare to find a place that delivers consistently great food, friendly service, and very fair pricing — but TKO absolutely nails all three.
Let’s start with the food: every bite is packed with bold, fresh flavours. Whether you’re into the classics or want to try something more unique, their menu has just the right mix of authenticity and creativity. The tacos are generously filled (none of that stingy nonsense you get in tourist traps), and the ingredients taste high quality — fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked with care.
The vibes? Spot on. Laid-back, vibrant, and welcoming. The space has a cool energy without being pretentious — perfect for a casual bite, pre-drinks dinner, or a chill catch-up with mates. Music’s always on point, and the whole place just feels… fun.
But what really impressed us both times was the service. Super friendly staff who actually seem to enjoy working there (rare these days!). Quick, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations — they made us feel looked after without hovering.
And for what you get, the prices are honestly amazing. Especially considering how much other restaurants in the area are charging for far less. TKO feels like one of those hidden gems that locals love and travellers are lucky to stumble across.
Already looking forward to the next visit. If you’re in Valencia and want something casual, flavour-packed, and easy on the wallet — don’t...
Read moreI was sadly disappointed and have never been so insulted as a costumer here in Valencia. My family came a few times to this location and unfortunately after ordering 20 tocos for our family of 5 we were kicked out and told to leave. This time the Tacos were served COLD !!! I politely asked the waitress to address our concern, she was rude stuck her hand in the toco and took them back. 3 other tables after us were already served while we sat for 10 more minutes. The waitress then told us that she would give us our money back. We were confused and said we would still like the tocos but she insisted we leave. My wife kindly asked to stay but rudely she refused as she was not going to remake them. When we questioned why………..not understanding they said nothing. She refused to get the Manager or someone to explain why when we only kindly said that they were not warm. They refused and sadly they do not care about customers as it is Fiaz ………and obviously have enough customers. As business owners ourselves this would be so unacceptable in Canada. I would never treat anyone of any color or ethnicity...
