New York — Restaurant in Valencia

Whenever I enter an establishment where I´m going to allow the production of certain zeta (?) waves – the one's that resemble those from a dream-zone – I like to come with a smidgen of imagination. I like to imagine perfection. I have never yet been to a place that could not be improved upon.

The main drawback of this place is the name – I want it to be more Spanish – although the naming has made it memorable.

Centrally placed is a large shining metal oval bar and you can prop it up and have your morning cafe-con-leche with some porras. Inside this little enclosure the busy happy efficient bar-people somehow work in absolute synchrony for best efficiency. Pouring out the hot milk into the coffee, taking the trays of scrumptious looking hot bocadillos from the kitchen hatch, and generally being friendly or busy but aware.

There are rows of tables on each side of the bar-island, just so spaced out nicely to give the right room for privacy without losing the intimacy.

I imagine it late in the evening ... and a chilll of excitement runs through me. I was unfortunately there in the morning.

There are not enough of these stylish traditional and elegant places in Valencia, stumbling upon it, took me back to a different world before the smart phone.

You want there to be snow outside whilst you are snugly drinking some hot chocolate watching the Christmas spirit through the window, alas this...

El 1 Estrella es para el buen trato del camarero , parece son gente que ya trabajado mucho año aquí, el resto fueron falta, la decoración cutre. Comida fatal: Pido : sepia a la plancha , se usa potón en lugar de sepia, más barato pero muy mal y el dentro es frío. Batata bravas, muy duro exterior pero el interior demasiado blando, parece que del día anterior. Brochetas, de cerdo, nos dio poco hecha (mejor diga crudo ...) por favor, es cerdo, y tampoco tiene ningún sabores de la comida, creo que sal o pimienta no son ingredientes caros.. Vi dos señores pidieron sándwich pero tampoco terminaron todo, desde sus caras, creo que no les gustaron la comida. Al final, ticket nada claro , en el ticket sólo aparecen : 1 × dept. C09 30euros Y carísimos , de verdad. Este bar sitúa en sitio perfecto pero no recomiendo.. Desde gestión de cocina hasta final todos caóticos. No sé gordon ramsay quiere...

Desde hace unos años voy a almorzar de vez en cuando , en los últimos meses han cambiado varias veces los camareros de barra cada vez a peor. Los que hay esta semana impresentables. Paseando por la barra sin atender a los clientes, y las comandas que les preparaban a los camareros de fuera todas equivocadas. Me sirvieron un bocadillo de tortilla a los 15 minutos, al abrir el pan se salio toda, estaba cruda, se lo hice saber, , se lo llevó para hacerla mas. a los 20 minutos sin saber que había pasado con el bocata decidí marcharme. Después de todo este tiempo no volveré a este sitio. Esta cervecería situada en el centro de Valencia tiene prestigio y creo que el dueño para seguir manteniendolo debería seleccionar un personal mas cualificado y profesional, de lo contrario al igual que yo muchos clientes...
