Can’t ask for anything more! Being our first time in Valencia, Carlos was really helpful in recommending us dishes from starters to mains - making sure we tried the best the place had to offer :) Would highly recommend the Valencian Paella (for 2 pax minimum, dry rice) and Charbraised Meatballs (added some tips below too) + We also had the Cod Fritters, Dry Aged Veal Tenderloin Steak Tartare, Artichoke, Sangria Cava, before ending off with the Panna Cotta Pro tips: 1. The place also included a court for Valencian Trinquet where I believe you can catch the trainings/matches when they happen! Really adds to the buzz and experience imho 2. Try to reserve your seats beforehand. We went on a Monday evening right at the opening time of 8pm, and the place was fully booked with only high seats remaining

Nice place to go for lunch and relatively central. The restaurant is in the same place where people place Trinquet (a Spanish ball game) and the restaurant theme is based on that too. The food is good and service is nice too. A bit more expensive than your average place but the price vs quality is good. Definitely recommend if you are the area. One thing to note though is if you book online, they have another restaurant in the Center that uses the same booking system. If you aren’t able to get a booking at the one, you can choose a time for the other. If you don’t read carefully, you could end up at one restaurant that you didn’t book for. Apart from that, it’s a good place to go for some good food and atmosphere.

We felt like the waiters were rushing to get our order, serve us, and get us the check. Less than 5seconds after we sat down the waitress asked us “any drinks?” No “hi, welcome”. Given our surprise, she said it’s a common practice in Spain - but this was the only place this happened from all restaurants we’ve been. We had to ask twice to change dirty wine glasses, and the waiter “analyzed” it to see if it was indeed dirty. The other he said “it was just water”. Food was fine. I would not come back for it. It is beautifully presented. The hummus is beautiful. The tartar de pescado is the only dish that really impressed me: make sure you have it. At the end, before asking and still having some wine, the check arrived at the table. Such an unnecessary rush - since it was not busy and it was not closing.

Best paella I’ve had in my trip in Valencia. We order the Paella Valenciana, the real paella, and it was just perfect. Perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and well executed. We also had an artichoke appetizer while waiting which was delicious. Accompanied by a local monastrell and Syrah wine, which was a great pairing. The service was great. Fenny was very nice and gave great recommendations. The location is cool too, there’s a trinquet arena, which is a sport local to Valencia that I learnt about on my trip here. You see the arena, but no one was playing while we visited. Would come again and certainly recommend if you’re in Valencia! Especially being close to the town center, it’s a very convenient location.

Give me more!! This restaurant was delicious and offers amazing local food with local flare. The Pilota-inspired decor is also intriguing and adds a new dimension to the space. They had a nice selection of food, offering enough to eat for our vegetarian friend, but not enough options for the picky (non-adventurous) eaters. Great quality food, good service although it did take them longer than we wanted and then they wanted us out of our table before we had our dessert/coffee. (If they needed the table, they needed to serve the food in a more timely way.) I will recommend to others AND will go back for the great food.

They really want to serve you! Great service Jorge and Paulo were incredibles. Excellent food, for entrance don’t forget to order the tomato and alioli with bread 👌. Croquetas were omg 🤩. Calamars in their ink were 10/10 For drinks I recommend the Tinto de Verano more than Aguas de Valencia! Cheesecake was spectacular and looved the Cremaet. Big fan now. We didn’t order much, just starters, that’s why our bill was 30€ p/p. This is the menu: https://grupogastrotrinquet.com/restaurantes/pelayo/carta-pelayo/ I recommend for you to book table before going. Thank you for the great service Pelayo Gastro team. 💖
