I was dining alone as I am a solo traveler and was recommended this place by some local People. I ordered one vegetarian paella for 2 for myself ( I would Take the left over home and they don’t do single servings ) It took 1 hour and 40 minutes to arrive In the time it came out I watched a man order and eat 3 courses before my food came out and two tables had eaten and left … they approached me only once to tell me it’s not far away. I should’ve left but I held out hope that it was going to come and time just kept ticking. By the time my food came out it had been 1 hour and 40 mins The food was fine, not the greatest When I received the bill they didn’t compensate me AT ALL… I paid 30€ for the paella 2.5€ for the bottle of water and they even had the audacity to charge me 1€ for the take away container for the remainder of my food. I have worked in hospitality my entire life and have never felt this way leaving a restaurant as if they didn’t care the slightest of their reputation after the experience I had or how I’d feel. They barely checked on me the whole time I was there As I don’t speak Spanish I felt very uncomfortable saying anything that I just paid and left. I am so disappointed this was my experience of dining out in a valencian...
Read moreThe woman chugging for customers to come inside and eat was very pleasant and persuasive.we were the first customers and the waiter was attentive. When the two salmon courses were served the portion sizes were ridiculously tiny. The vegetables were literally a table-spoon of cream potatoes.
We told the woman who seemed to have a dual role of getting the customers in and then being in charge that the portions were tiny. She shrugged and never commented. We used the telephone translator which she read and again sniffed her nose. Clearly she is used to bothersome tourists and doesnt give two monkeys.
The men's toilets are a disgrace... small cubicle no urinal, no locks on the door, NO toilet seat. Please give this place a swerve... don't be conned by her pleasant manner.
As we were leaving she was back outside touting and drumming up new customers. We looked at her as we left and she just blanked us. Any normal business owner would bid a customer at least a nod of acknowledgement or a wave or a smile. She just frowned tight lipped.

Read moreThis place came recommended by our guide from the free walking tour, but could not DISagree more! Should have checked the reviews first... We choose the menu del dia. The papas bravas were very greasy and drowning in sauce, and the paella de mariscos main was also super oily, with only two shrimp (!) and a couple of mussels. Mostly rice and oil, and hardly flavour. Add to that that the rice was undercooked! So we asked if this could be fixed. And this is a place know for its paella apparently. The kitchen staff sent us bad looks (and no wonder, the Venezuelan sous-chef had just been complaining to his colleague that he doesn't even like cooking), and at this point we decided to leave. We had had only a few bites of paella and no dessert yet, so refused to pay the full bill. This was accommodated at least. And the goat cheese salad was tasty, albeit a bit sugary. We left completely frazzled, feeling like we wasted a day in Valencia eating the worst...
