We came to Amorino in Playa Blanca because of the glowing reviews: 4.9 stars with thousands of ratings. Honestly, we were excited. But after three visits, all we can say is: the hype does not match the reality.

Visit 1: We ordered via touchscreen, chose table service, and waited 40 (!) minutes for a basic order: one gelato, one sorbet, two oat milk lattes (we’re lactose intolerant). When it finally arrived and I checked to be sure it was lactose free milk, they casually said they ran out of oat milk. When I told her we couldn’t drink it then, they suddensly did have it. Weird, confusing experience.

Visit 2: We decided to give it another try. Slightly better, only ordered gelato, no coffee. This was fine.

Visit 3 (today): Ordered iced oat milk lattes. What we got: hot coffees in glass mugs with a single ice cube in a separate cup. When we said this wasn’t how we got it last time, they said, “This is how we do it in Spain.” Completely dismissive.

Here’s the thing: the gelato is okay. But the service is slow, chaotic, and unreliable — especially for anyone with allergies. And honestly? My recent visit to Amorino in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote, was an absolute delight, made even more memorable by the exceptional service provided by Laura. From the moment we approached the counter, Laura greeted us with a warm and genuine smile. She was incredibly patient and helpful as we navigated the dazzling array of gelato and sorbet flavours. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she expertly crafted our choices into Amorino's signature flower shape – a true work of art! And the gelato itself? Absolutely divine! The quality of the ingredients shone through in every spoonful. The flavours were intense and authentic, and the texture was perfectly creamy and smooth. It's clear that Amorino is passionate about using high-quality products, and it truly elevates the entire experience. Laura's fantastic service perfectly matched the superior quality of the gelato. She was attentive, efficient, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making our visit special. Great ice cream, I had mango, raspberry, chocolate and straciatella. All flavours were lovely. Amazing presentation.

I wasn’t sure about the screens at the beginning but to be honest it’s actually good solution eliminating the language barrier and allowing more time to think about the flavours.

The only thing I would suggest is more direction or arrows where to queue. I know there is a sign to order by the screens but many customers can’t see it (I don’t know why, but if people can’t see the sign, it means it can...
