After lots of great reports about Namaste we went tonight and were really disappointed!
The positives first. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The menu is extensive. We were given free poppadoms while we waited for our starters. The Chicken Puri & the Nan breads were excellent.
Sadly that’s where the positives end. It took over an hour to get our starters served to us. Tables around us that arrived after us had finished their starters before we even received ours. We ordered everything off menu and no special requests were made to change anything. The mains finally arrived an hour & forty minutes after we ordered. (Again others around us had finished theirs and had arrived after us) My other half’s Chicken Bhuna was okay but nothing special. My chicken tandoori was bland and tasteless. The sauce served with it was most definitely a pasta sauce. It tasted simply of tomato and herbs, zero spice flavour or heat. I’d ordered this dish as it was one of the few dishes where the meat was cooked on the bone. This normally indicates a dish full of flavour. Sadly not. They did offer to replace the dish but we’d been sat there for over 2 hours by this time and my Mrs was now quite cold. They did remove that dish from the bill and apologised profusely.
We won’t be back but if you do go I’d advise getting there early and bring an extra layer in case your sat as long as us. There were a lot of people around us who seemed to have enjoyed their meals.
So maybe early teething...
Read moreThe service and food was very poor and extremely disappointing considering the reviews and recommendations. My wife asked for an additional serviette, however this did not arrive. After My starter I had to request a new fork, this did not arrive so had to use my spoon. The food was OK bit not great and the whole experience seemed very rushed, as if the wanted quantity rather than quality. At no point during the food were we asked if the meal was OK, also I was asked if I had finished by a waitress when clearly I was only half way through my meal. We did raise the issues to a lady at the end who apologised and said she would feedback accordingly. I would not recommend as the food and service for the price was totally outweighed by other Indian restaurants we had visited during our stay in playa blanca. As a summary very disappointed and feel it is only right to leave a review like this so people are aware. When you are on holiday you look forward to a special evening meal, but this just...
Read moreVisited on 4 occasions during our 2 week hotel stay, only B & B, so able to visit and support local businesses for dinner. Great friendly welcoming staff, always chatty, as it's our go to Indian when visiting P B, so we got to know the luvly staff. Ordered a Cava Sangria (1/2 jug) ideal for one and beers, we njoyed starters of a mix meat platter, puris prawns, onion bhaji, chicken pakora, sheekh kebab and a chicken tikka chaat, then mains of chicken tikka, lamb shashlik, balti+ chicken, lamb saag, rogan josh+ chicken, cheese & garlic naans, and chapati's, we didn't have enough room for desserts or coffee's. all our food was freshly made, well presented and delicious. The restaurant has a very friendly atmosphere as all staff interact with everyone. Food from the Italian next door Roma Italia can be ordered here, and vice versa so ideal to njoy both types of food. Highly Recommend a visit. See you all again...
