The Castillo de San Marcial de Rubicón, also known as the Castle of Femés, was a fortress located in the municipality of Yaiza on the island of Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands. It was built in the 15th century, specifically in 1404, during the early stages of the European conquest of the Canary Islands.

This castle was constructed to protect the first European settlement in the archipelago, the Bishopric of San Marcial del Rubicón, established by the Norman conquerors Jean de Béthencourt and Gadifer de La Salle. It was strategically located near the Rubicón area to defend against potential attacks, particularly from pirates or indigenous resistance.

Unfortunately, the castle was destroyed over time, and today no significant remains of the structure are visible. However, its historical importance is remembered as a key part of the early colonization...

A nice viewpoint that is worth the visit. A small fort that is placed here overlooking the coastline. Unfortunately you're not able to enter it. but nevertheless a good place for a walk and sightseeing. Its also easily accessible from the nearby boulevard. If you can bear the heat during daytime you might want to walk a bit further South to...
