If you want an experience both service and food this is the place for you. We had not booked a table but arrived at 6.30pm if we could finish by 8pm they would give us a inside table, not a problem we said. 1st waiter came and told us what the specials were that night and description, had a look at the menu, placed our order. 2nd waiter took our drinks order, served wine in chilled and ice wine holder, kept coming to refill glasses just as they were almost drained, lovely. 3rd waiter served the 6 oysters and tuna croquettes, bread came with truffle and lemon butter (full on flavour delicious. Oysters were huge very fresh sitting half a ton of ice, croquettes were full of tuna and very crisp coating nice starter. 4th waiter served the mains, all the while wine is being refreshed, (decided to have a Mango daiquiri, looked like an ice cream but was very good flavour and stayed chilled to the end) my partner had the fish special with champagne sauce with Canarian potatoes and assorted vegetables, I had the udon noddles Japanese beef. The fish was a thick solid slice but cooked perfectly and the sauce was exquisite. The udon noodles soft a good amount, vegetables cooked but still slightly firm, the large amount of diced melt in your mouth beef was delicious add the spiced soy coating lovely lovely dish. This was a Sunday from what I saw almost all the tables were booked and there were a lot of return visitors from the welcome they got from all the staff. Finally head waitress saw my cocktails had dropped a little liquid onto table cloth she whipped out a cloth dried the table cloth and bottom of my glass without being asked. Lovely outside area with big comfy seats for pre meal drinks with lovely views over the bay and Marina entrance. They also had a lovely veranda outside for couples to eat. This was the best food and experience so far. Head waitress brought the bill to my enqire that we had to pay to which she replied it is a necessary part we both laughed. Highly recommend, the staff are polite, observant (wine) informative and made the experience. The food is top quality both freshness, presentation and taste. We have booked a table on the night before we...
Read moreWe are at Casa Carlos this evening as a family of four , with two children. I was previously advised against trying this restaurant but did so regrettably. It has beautiful views but asides from that I wouldn't recommend . It was very busy with plenty of waiters/ waitresses however they have a system in place where only the the owner can take your food order meaning there was a very long wait before we could even order our meal. I ordered a kids meal for one child and a medium to well done steak for my other child from the main menu. The wait for my child's steak was ridiculously long , they served it at the same time as myself and my husband's which would be fine if there wasn't already a very long wait for the meal to be served and they then arrived with a rare steak which had to be returned. I was told it would be out again in two minutes. We waited almost 15 minutes for it to be returned. Myself and my husband had long finished eating at this point. My child was crying with hunger and I felt like nobody cared, never mind apologised. When we asked for the bill we were met with an extremely rude waitress who snapped at my child because she put some leftover chips on the plate for the bills/tips. I asked to see the manager. No sign of him of course. So I paid the bill. When leaving some lovely ladies sitting next to us suggested I should speak to the owner having witnessed how our whole evening went. So I waited until Carlos stopped to speak to me. I explained to him how the standard wasnt good enough , the issue with the steak and the rude waitress. He simply raised his eyebrow and made a face and replied ' it's a bit late now you should have told me earlier. There is nothing I can do now ". So I left. No apology. Just an arrogant owner who didnt want to know or hear any negative feedback. This is not a family friendly restaurant and i would not return. The food was only average - 17 euro for 5 prawns in...
Read moreVery disappointing meal and service. Arrived at 8:30pm, and after being seated it took over 15 minutes to place our order - for some reason there is only one person with an iPad able to take orders despite there being about 10 waiters. When we were served they said we couldn't order a paella as they had no space, despite a table that ordered 5 minutes after us being able to order a paella (and spoiler - got their meal before we did?).
The biggest issue here, was how long the food took to arrive and lack of communication. We were waiting over 30 minutes after ordering to get even our starter, a tuna tartare that is cold and was so simple (just tuna and avocado) that it could of been made in 30 seconds. A table that ordered at the same time as us had already been given and finished eating their mains when we finally got the starter. It was not worth the wait or even eating here in the first place.
The mains finally came after, over an hour after ordering. The black rice was overly salty and flavour was plain, not worth over €30. The fish catch of the day meal was disappointing, I mean looks at the photo - we were only given 3 Canarian potatoes, 3 potatoes is some kind of cruel joke. Plain vegetables on the side too. The fish was a big portion, but was a bit dry.
Overall this was the worst meal and experience of our trip here, there is much better restaurants with much cheaper prices. The main waiter / manager also was initially quite rude when I raised a complaint and caused a scene at the table, later he did comp the starter and removed the cost and later apologiesed, which I appreciate. But for me the overall...
