We arrived around 8 PM and were informed that reservations were required, so we booked for 9:15 PM. Upon arrival, we were guided past several open tables and seated around a corner in an uncomfortable spot with no breeze for relief. Our request to be seated elsewhere was met with disdain and, for lack of a better term, a load of waiter nonsense. When we ordered drinks, I asked for a different glass for our bubbly, specifically a flute. The response was a smug, "Of course, we are a proper restaurant." However, a proper restaurant would not: 1. Act so belligerently towards guests. 2. Serve food across people. 3. Get orders wrong or omit requests. 4. Allow something as bad as what I photographed to leave the kitchen. 5. Respond to food complaints with the same dismissive attitude. Food wise Avocado and prawn - Poorly presented Carpaccio- nice and tasty Bruschetta- nice Calzone - ok but missing requested spice Lasagne carne - tasty and enjoyable Fillet steak - Nothing more to add bar image. The waiter turned the plate around in the photo as he felt it looked better. The restaurant should try harder, treat guests with respect, and avoid serving dishes that look like they belong in a cafe.

Very busy restaurant had to book was shown were my table would be around the side, not a problem it was facing the marina. When we arrived was shown a table in the main part of sitting area with a cancelled table was available. Ordered a 1/2 bottle of chianti and water. Ordered Brusctta with tomatoes (no garlic rubbed on the toast and some melted cheese on top of the tomatoes, been to Italy never saw that there) I had the Grilled Sardines 3 ( possible minnow size see photo)They were grilled nicely though. Mains consisted of Spaghetti Fruits of Sea in a tomato sauce, good size portion and nice amount of different Shell fish, very tasty with a good amount of garlic.I had the pasta Abuela small pasta swirls in a creamy sauce with a lot of bacon and minute bits of chicken, it was very nice to taste however, it was only half a plate Full hmmm.

Last night we had a unique experience listening to Scott Page backed by The Floydians (the Italian Pink Floyd Experience) along with a wonderful 3 course dinner. The menu was limted but that can be understood for such an occasion, and the selection catered to both meat eaters and vegaterians. The food was excellent, my wife and I both really enjoyed the meat lasagne. It is a wonderfully run organization. Our waiter Ernesto who seemed to run the other waiters was very efficient and made sure that every one was taken cared of, both before and during the concert. It was 6 years since Scott Page last performed, there hopefully it will not be another 6 years before we will be able to experience it again. On the whole, it is something that other venues should strive to emmulate. Well done Afrodite and all your staff.

The servers here are absolutely lovely. However when we received our food (carbonara and spaghetti bolognese) The pasta was rubbery and both dishes were stone cold. The server was very apologetic when he took it away as we had only eaten one bite each. The owner, who was extremely rude then came out and told us we had to pay as we ate the food, both plates were still completely full. I said I would happily pay for the drinks and the garlic bread which we only had 2 slices of because it was extremely oily. He then called the police and told them we wouldn’t pay because it was cold and showed them the plate was hot as it had clearly been in a hot cabinet when they took it back which then led to the police forcing us to pay. I have never been spoken to so rudely by anyone in the service industry and would avoid this place. Such a shame as the rest of the staff were lovely.

Edit: After seeing the below response from the owner I would like to point out we never once said we were used to this treatment in England. I asked him to leave our table as he threatened to call the police so we couldn’t leave and his presence was making me anxious and uncomfortable. We ate a mouthful of the dish once it arrived at our table and realised it was not a good standard (absolutely not half of the dish) once we were approached by a member of very understanding staff I was very polite, I even apologised as I felt bad and I hate complaining and everything was fine until the owner came out telling us we were wrong. Not once while in playa blanca on my holiday have I said I’m not willing to pay the bill as all the other restaurants have been absolutely brilliant. By “insulting” the owner I believe he means calling him rude as well as the police officers (to be fair their English was not great so this may not have been fair however they were arguing with us) - we also offered to pay for our drinks and garlic bread which was more than fair but he was not having it. I have now seen in other reviews we are not the first to have this treatment and I’m sure we won’t be the last. As for “kicking and breaking a plant” that is a bit excessive. My partner was angry at the owner for causing me to cry in his restaurant from the anxiety I had experienced and if anything lightly brushed it on the way past. This is actually the first time I have ever written a negative review for anywhere me and my partner are good people who hate complaining, but the owner is a bully and a liar and I can’t not make people aware of this...

One word describes this.. pretentious... And read the full response from"The Owner" which proves my point... If you knew the "she" you know she doesn't know what nastiness is... Again, my point was proven...

  1. We arrived at about 6:30 and asked if we had a reservation. The restaurant had approx 10% of it's tables occupied. Saying no, we were ushered to the most remote table in a far corner, outside on the patio. Letting them know that was unacceptable, especially with an empty restaurant, we were give a table but told we would have to be gone by 8:50. This only happened after we said we would find someplace else to eat.
  2. As we sat and ate over the next 1 hour plus, at least 6 other couples if not more that said they did not have reservations arrived, and were seated with little or no fanfare.
  3. Ordered a salad to be spit between us, and a pizza to be split between us. Both delivered at the same time, 1 plate each to share 2 items.
  4. For the salad we were given packets of olive oil and vinagre.. I asked if they had olive oil and vinaigrette in bottles and was told that the full bottle types were much cheaper and not as high a quality as the packets were, implying we should have known that. The waiter did get us a second packet of each... Big of him.
  5. Initially ordered a 1/2 bottle of white wine (6:45, empty restaurant, 1:45 before the "rush" should hit. Waiter returned to the table to tell us they ran out of the 1/2 bottles but he would bring us two glasses of wine. The 1/2 bottle was $9.50 Euros and we knew what brand it was to be, the two glasses were 11.00 Euros and no clue what brand it was. When I brought this to the attention of the waiter, he said the 1/2 bottle was actually 13 Eu and I just dropped it there...

Overall, this place is pretentious... lots of prancing around and seeming busy, important, very busy and very special... Salad and pizza were average at best... They brought up the overall rating I would give this place. When we left there were more people there, but far from the "we're sold out but we have this back corner table for you two old folks" No need to worry about running into us here.

$43 dollars for a pizza, two drinks and a salad is high for Spain and for this market also, especially since there was nothing special about the...

Overpriced and under par

I must start by saying the staff were nice and my bruschetta starter was very nice too, but unfortunately everything went downhill from there. The prawn starter was luke warm and not great. The tricolour pizza looked very appetising and was very generous on the pesto so I was excited to dig in, however the pizza sauce was completely tasteless so it was just salty dough, salty cheese and salty pesto. Not an enjoyable meal. I would have called over a waiter and asked for a different dish (something I have never done before in my life), but as a vegetarian, the only other options would have also included the tasteless tomato sauce. The lemon chicken was very dry, and again the sauce was completely tasteless and basically just water. The expensive chicken dish also came with just potatoes and no vegetables at all. Then the bill came. We noticed immediately when ordering how expensive everything was in comparison to the rest of the marina and picked cheaper options as a result. In particular, they're charging €19 for a bottle of la Geria wine, which is about €8 in supermarkets and €14 in other restaurants. The worst thing for me was that they give you bread without asking then charge you for it. My ultimate pet peeve. We considered the price of it as the tip. Never in my life have I had to give a negative review or not tipped. As regulars to the area we have never visited this restaurant before as it was always empty in comparison to the rest of the marina and we considered that a bad sign....
