Food was amazing. I had the paella, my friends had the ceaser salad and the avocado and prawns. Very very good and quick. Bad side They add tax to the bill. My friend who lives here asked and complained about it because in SPANISH LAW it is ILLEGAL!!!! to add tax at the end of bill. So my friend was talking to the first young waiter to said that wasn't true and in Spain they do that. She pointed out again that's it's against the law. So he said that we had to talk to the manager because he knows nothing. He proceeded to walk to the other side of the restaurant and speak badly about my friend to the manager and his work colleagues. He was saying that Spanish people don't even complain but this 'guiri' (bad work for foreigners) does. The manager came over- he seems very nice. We explained the situation but again he didn't understand.
when we were leaving the young waiter said some horrible words under his breathe which made my friend shout back to the manager- be careful she speaks Spanish too. She will be reporting this legally.
In Spain, the Value Added Tax (IVA, also known as VAT) is included in the listed price of goods and services, including restaurant meals. It is illegal for restaurants to add a separate 7% charge (or any other percentage) for VAT on top of the already displayed price. The listed price, including VAT, must be the price you pay. Here's a more detailed explanation: VAT is Included: In Spain, VAT is an indirect tax that is already factored into the price displayed on the menu or at the point of sale. No Separate Charge: It is illegal for restaurants to add a separate charge for VAT on top of the price displayed on the menu. 7% VAT Rate: The standard VAT rate in Spain is 10%, but in the Canary Islands, it is 7% (IGIC). Ceuta and Melilla: In Ceuta and Melilla, the tax is called IPSI, and the rate varies between 0.5% and 10%. Reporting Illegal Practices: If a restaurant attempts to add an extra charge for VAT on top of the displayed price, it is considered illegal and can...

Came as a party of 6 persons whilst in the area, was sat down and after 10 mins our drinks order was taken. Once the drinks arrived, we had our food order taken quite promptly without being asked if we wanted to change some of the options on the meals as they did have either or such as chips or potatoes etc.
Paella was very flavoursome, as well as the nachos ordered as a main but the rest of the order (chicken in gravy with veg, spag bol and tex mex) was to be desired ... I've had better in a 3 star hotel all inclusive where it sat in sauce/gravy for the entirety of the dinner sitting.
Chicken was chewy, the rest of the meal was stone cold and the tex mex was something you could put together easily yourself at home without any actual effort to make it bespoke as that's why you eat out because you want to eat something nicer than a home cooked meal. Spag bol was more of a kids portion and you had to ask for the cheese separately, wasn't that all impressed.
When addressed this with management on the night, the best they could do was wipe one of the meals off the bill but a lot more could have been done to compensate the poor experience we had to endure. Perhaps if had made more of a scene or issue, then more would have been done to preserve their reputation but instead opted not to hence the review.
If more definitive descriptions were put on their menu, as well as actually removing items from the desert menu that they don't have as seems that all the restaurants have the exact same then don't put it out and have someone address this when people come in at the start so they can decide if happy to stay or not.
Shame but if more due care and attention was made, this could have been avoided so if the improvements are taken on board and implemented then I'd think about giving them...
Read moreWe visited here on our final night of holiday following enjoying the food the previous night we decided to go back, along with friends we made on holiday. Our food took a long time to arrive, with my friends order taking 3 attempts to get it right. Shortly after starting to eat our food, a member staff ineptly attempted a Flambé with a couple’s food at the front of the restaurant., pouring more alcohol onto the Flambé once it was alight which splashed fire onto the customer., catching him alight. The staff were absolutely clueless in how to treat this man’s burns, pouring any random drinks off the table onto him and rubbing ice onto his injuries - there was no water or fire extinguisher on the flambé trolley. Another customer pulled his shirt (which was on fire) off him very quickly which I’m certain massively reduced his injuries. Literally everyone was lucky the whole restaurant did not go up in flames.
As nurse’s my friends and I attended the man’s injuries and supported his wife whilst the waiters continued to serve other customers. As NHS nurses we will always help and do not expect any praise or gratitude for this - we just wanted to support the man and reduce his long term injuries.
Once he’d gone with a paramedic crew we returned to our food, which was now cold and none of us had an appetite anymore. Our new holiday friend suggested to the waiter we should not have to pay for the food we hadn’t eaten, we were made to feel like criminals, he implied the injured man was their problem and we shouldn’t have assisted and just sat eaten our food. The poor man’s injuries would have been so much worse long term if there was no intervention from us. I was absolutely appalled by the waiters aggression and rudeness - these staff need urgent first aid training and if they continue doing Flambé need some sort of health and safety training and investigations. I would avoid this restaurant at all costs, if there is another emergency you...
