Al Bite — Restaurant in Colombo

Today I placed an order with Al Bite in Colombo 06 for two shawarmas, hoping for a delightful meal. However, my experience turned into a complete nightmare. Today, upon biting into one of the shawarmas, I made a horrifying discovery a worm had constructed a cocoon behind the seemingly innocent salad leaf!

I cannot emphasize enough the disgust and horror that engulfed me at that moment. Witnessing a black worm wriggling amidst my food was not only revolting but also extremely distressing. Regrettably, I had already consumed half of the contaminated shawarma before uncovering this repulsive surprise, which triggered an immediate bout of vomiting.

This unhygienic and unacceptable incident has left me deeply concerned about Al Bite's commitment to providing clean and safe food to its customers. Finding a worm in my shawarma not only ruined my meal but also jeopardized my health. The mere thought of consuming contaminated food is sickening.

I feel compelled to bring this issue to the attention of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs Authority. It is crucial that they are aware of the unclean and hazardous practices at Al Bite. Customers should not be exposed to such unsanitary conditions that put their well-being at risk.

Given the distressing experience I endured, I strongly advise against ordering from Al Bite until they can demonstrate a substantial improvement in their food preparation and hygiene standards. Encountering a worm in my shawarma is not only indicative of a severe lack of cleanliness but also a complete disregard for customer satisfaction and well-being.

In conclusion, my recent order from Al Bite for two shawarmas turned into a nightmare when I discovered a worm hiding behind a salad leaf. This shocking experience led to vomiting and a deep sense of disappointment. I urge the management of Al Bite to urgently address this issue and take immediate measures to prevent such incidents from occurring...

It's ok for a quick bite while U wait for U'r bus or run towards U'r train😜. Service is excellent as there are very few sitting in customers at a time. Small and space constraint place. Mostly seem to be take away. They have a pretty ok range of fast food on display. Personally, the food seem to weigh towards sugary taste in things like Shawarmas and burgers. So if U've been to the Middle East end expect similar taste....please completely imagine the opposite and U will not be disappointed and maintain your respect for the chef😁. Lately prices are very high with many of the selections just like the rest of Srilankan places with no reasonable levels of rhyme or reason. But it's a business and they have to keep up with the rest I guess. Staff is very friendly. Always smiling and attentive. This is a huge plus for me. I wish them good success in future and if they are reading, may be please get the shawarma right. Add a few herbs and some coriander leaves with fresh onions and Middle eastern pickles with some Thahini and serve some hummus on the sides. Surely you will get many more crowding...

A wonderful atmosphere with a pleasant service.. Food was absolutely amazing, reminded me of my mother's home cooked taste. The chicken burger was scrumptious, it brought the spices taste to a perfect level, not over powering or lacking. The chicken was tender and burger bun had a fresh feeling so as the vegetables which were added, other places would have killed that fresh feeling.
