Kathiresan Temple — Attraction in Colombo

The environment is very calm and peaceful. The temple is famous. Easy access by public transport. You can keep the slippers and helmets on the counter as well. There is plenty of parking space available. Beautiful and colourful architecture. Special poojas are held. During the Kandha Sasti period special poojas are held and the Sooran Poor is very famous and lots of people come to witness it During Maha Shivarathri dance and musical programs are organised from night to morning. The Gopuram is lit and very beautiful at night. Us, Colombo people have lots of memories in this temple with our families, friends and loved ones. If you visit here during an off-peak time, you can peacefully sit here and enjoy solitude. There are male and female peacocks in the cage as well.
