I hopped in to KFC Marine Drive Col 6, at 12.30 pm thinking of buying a regular Biryani & a Mirinda quickly. There were only 4 customers including me. All of us were just kept waiting at the counter for exactly 5 minutes even without asking what we wanted. It was to hot outside to look for an alternative food joint. So we all waited.
Since I got to KFC in a tuk, I knew exactly when I got there to the counter. So, it took exactly 14 minutes for the only lady who served the customers to ask me what I wanted. Loud and clear I said, "1 regular Biriyani & 1 large Mirinda". She walked to the food and asked me again. " 1 regular Biriyani & 1 large Mirinda", I repeated. She spilt the Mirinda a couple of times into the tray, got my drink, and decided to serve another customer. I waited. She saw me with a 5000/- note and said very coldly, "no change pay by card". So I gave my card and asked again for my Regular Biriyani. She had to pick up at least 10-12 chicken pieces from the same tray, to decide which two to serve me in my rice. She managed to find the smallest two pieces for me. (Nevermind. I have eaten KFC for over 35 years from many lands. So I know this is not KFC's way)
There was no welcome to any customers, no apology for delays, and not even a thank you at the end of a purchase. For goodness sake, at least smile at customers??? No.
I really felt like I walked into KFC to see a lady boss's attitude. It was the most annoying quarter hour spent at a KFC ever. Actually, all 4 customers were exchanging looks probably because we all felt the same.
Dear KFC, please educate your staff about being courteous to customers - no matter who they are. Tell your staff to show some attentiveness. If they need time to prepare food, they should just tell it to the customers politely, so we know what's going on. Even if it's taking too much time, if the service is nice and polite, customers will be patient. This is not the era where sales people and vendors give attitude to customers. Don't spoil an international brand name by your careless and ignorant behaviour.
Please take this constructively....

Read moreSince every KFC outlet has the same food, I I have tried every variety on the menu and can proudly say that I'm nuts about their food, ignoring the calorie count of course. Presently the place is under renovation, so its a bit of a mess. I frequently work late and miss lunch. This is one place I can expect to find Rice (biriyani) even at 3.30 p.m.
My favourites are the Grilled Chicken (a full thigh cooked in Bar-be-cue sauce) with Biryani (Rs. 380), and Spicy Rice with a chicken breast fried KFC style (Rs. 340), well worth the price.
With regard to dessert, I like their sundaes specially the strawberry and pineapple sundaes, but the best is the biscuit pudding made specially for KFC by CBL. This is the ONLY place you can find Biscuit Pudding made WITHOUT eggs, plus it is made with real chocolate and NOT cocoa powder - yummy!!!. I'm not a chocolate fan but this is the ONLY chocolate item I eat.
On the overall, the staff is generally courteous and very helpful. All types of cards accepted including AMEX. They also offer delivery - you can make the payment and give the address...
