My family was in colombo from 3rd to 15 may as we plan to move our hotel from 10th may to 15 may. We want global tower hotel we did direct booking from the reception staff. |He confirmed us the 3 room apartment and 1 double room in same floor. |All so will get best room from the hotel with sea view to enjoy my family.||But when we check in the hotel staff change our apartment to deferent 8th floor and we got double room from 6th floor.||We was waiting in lobby for 30 min as they mention room is not ready all so they will not allow without full payment.||ROOM.||First our room v bad condition. Birth room are v old. Water leaking from toilet, Room door locks broken, balconies door no locks, when we on the A/C full all the room are vibrating different to sleep. ||After we compline we cannot sleep in night they move our room to 7th floor next day told us this is better apartment. Bug our first apartment they have washing machine, electric burner for cooking if needed. When we ask they said we can wash clothes from main laundry. ( later next day they mention we have to pay for laundry service)||If the hotel some guest getting free laundry in the apartment others need to pay its not worth that we pay.||House keeping ||We was waiting staff come and clean the apartment but 2 days no come to clean the apartment. After next day we complain front office staff come see the apartment send cleaning staff. ||Something we feel we all ways need to complain for everything to make perfect no senior staff is checking. |I work all so maldives 5 staff resort we know what will happen when guest complain regarding the any service our manager and everyone toke to the guests to make them happy. But in-this hotel senior staff they don’t care. ||Actually i don’t want complain but my family is not happy with the stay how much we pay. I-have mentioned this front office staff all-so.|Next day we got 15% discounts to wash our clothes. We don’t want any discounts we want good service.||Since first day we told them our family want stay same floor room as us to enjoy together but till departure they couldn’t help us.||They only want money to take from the guest after they don’t care about them.||Pool||Our family was in pool only one-day they mention staff on duty will be on pool from 9 am to 6 pm. but no one was there till 4 pm to 6 pm on that day. All so no towel available after pool. We have to go apartment with wet.||Restaurant ||They have v big restaurant in ground floor but no menu is available in room, or room service all so we don’t know opening time of restaurant. Guests who stay here at Global Towers, are comparing it with Shangri-La, Kingsbury, Cinnamon Grand, Taj Samudra, Radisson, Hilton,Movenpick, Rathna by Grand, and a host lot of star rated properties.
What they should be aware of is, Global Towers is a Service apartment property, neatly maintained, superb location, accessible to all the best happening spots of Colombo, very courteous front office personnel, good and experienced house keeping staff, freshly painted and great looking rooms, nice bathroom with a tub.clean and crispy bedsheets and fine toiletries.
What else can you get for a fraction of the price, in Colombo.
Initially I intended to stay for 2 days, but with the look and feel and the hospitality, I extended my stay for another 5 days.
The flip side is, you may not find gorgeous foreign tourists walking around the property, in bikinis, you may find the restaurant empty.
But if you are looking for a budget place, which is neat and reasonable, this is the place for you to stay in Colombo.
I loved this place and if given another opportunity, I will come back and stay here.
You can walk across the road, on to the beach, right opposite the property, there is a lovely garden restaurant, Chillax garden pub, serving some chilled beer, a KFC right beside. Walk down for 100 mts, you get to access, good food joints, comfortable to your pocket.
You can also find tuk tuk or a taxi right in front of the hotel for your travel to any place in Colombo.
I am really happy, I could find this property in MakeMyTrip portal.

Read moreWe booked this apartment over 8 months ago and was looking forward to our family holiday. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 2 weeks and they had given us a 3 bedroom apartment. We thought that they would have upgraded us and left it at that. After a few days, a staff member came into the apartment and asked us why we are using all 3 bedrooms when we have paid only for 2! He summoned us to to the reception as if we had done something wrong. We explained that nothing was communicated to us about using the additional room. The |receptionist and the front office manager was so rude to.us. We were interrogated for a.mistake they had done. We asked to speak to the General Manager and he did not have the courage to face us. They asked us to vacate the 3 bedroom apartment and to move into a 2 bedroom because they made a mistake allocating the room! We insisted we are going to stay where we are because we have settled in already. They shut one of the bedrooms! It was advertised as a fully functioning kitchen but no kitchen equipment or crockery or cutlery. The apartment and overall building is neglected. The day before checking out, I settled the bill as we were leaving early morning. The bill had an additional charge of Rs8000. When I questioned the Front Office Manager, he had no clue about it and said not to worry about it. Next day when we were checking out, we were told of the Rs8000 outstanding amount again and the receptionist did not allow us to leave. There was no handing over from the previous shift! He was trying the get hold of the gront office manager but was not successful. He has to eventually let us go. The location was good and house keeping staff were friendly. The view from the room was also good. That is the only positive thing I could say about our stay. Left Sri Lanka with a bad experience and would never stay...
