Probably one of the worst experiences that I’ve had at a pub. Under previous management, we had a really good experience and we actually kept recommending this place to a lot of friends, while we were finally able to make it there as a group with our expectations so high, we were welcomed with a real smug look from the Manager Roshan who has probably never smiled in his life, not sure if he has even managed a restaurant in his life prior to this.
We had a reservation for 10 people and while they got abit late to come, we ordered only a little bit for the time being, but MANAGER ROSHAN felt the need to come and remind us that we NEED to spend 2000 per person. Now that amount pp is lower than our normal nights out, but the fact that he thought he had to remind us with his smug look and NOT even a friendly smile when saying it. Treated us like we come and order one dish and leave. Well we eventually did order more food.
The food was BAD! The fried beef was tender but not salted, when we asked if anything can be done, they splattered some mayonnaise and gave it back. The chicken felt like it was made last week and at the end of the day we didn’t even finish any of the dishes because they were just BLAND.
We spoke to one of the waiters because they were more approachable than the manager, and as we have previously had a good experience we thought we could at least let them know than write a review publicly, but no the manager wanted to get involved and DEFEND himself, ensuring that he makes his point without really trying to understand that we were advising him of how bad the experience has been, well MANAGER ROSHAN didn’t give up and kept trying to make his case, really turning this whole conversation into and argument himself and we eventually just walked off, for the last time. He ruined our experience and we’re never stepping foot into that place again.
A little smile never killed anyone, manager has to stop thinking he is the president (but even they smile more)
Have to say Kudos to Iduranga, the best service, friendly and on time...

Read moreAbsolutely terrible customer service. On Google it says it's open till 12.00am but that is not the case. They were closing everything at 11.00pm last night, and when questioned THE MANAGER said because our bill didn't add up to 2000 rupees per person, they are going to close. He added that because there is not a big crowd also, that we need to leave by 11.30pm maximum. It is not a surprise that they do not have any customers on a Saturday night because the service is terrible, and the manager is very rude. As we got there the kitchen was closing, so even if we wanted to spend above 2000 rupees per person, it was impossible. They had charged us for two tonics, and they wanted to know if we 'want them'. I have no words. One of the worst experiences I've had as a customer, and when speaking to the rest of the hotel staff (not at Area 56, but the hotel itself), they said they've received multiple complaints about this. So clearly we are not the only unhappy customers. No wonder it was empty. Please specify on your platforms that people have to pay 2000 rupees per head to be able to stay till 12.00am and that if there is no crowd, you will be closing earlier. Also, please get a better manager with better PR skills, because the waiters and the manager can really use some training in hospitality. They acted like they were doing us a favour by letting us be there till 11.30pm. Should not be the case for...
