Al Fresco Garden Cafe — Restaurant in Colombo

Never in my life did I have to wait 1 1/2 hours to get my food at a restaurant! My friend and i decided to have brunch here and the menu seemed promising. So we proceeded to order a couple of mocktails and we decided to share two different types of dishes. We ordered a mushroom and cheese croissant and chicken and egg pizza. The croissant was quite good but the pizza just lacked flavor. But that wasn’t the worst part of it. We arrived at the place around 1.00 pm and at that time there were only a couple of customers. We made the order around 1.10 pm and expected to have our meals within at least half an hour. But we received our meals nearly 1 1/2 hours late! During that time period i had to get up twice and go to the counter to ask why it’s taking so long. Within this incredibly long waiting time the place filled up with customers and we could clearly see that most of them were getting impatient too. Some of them had to ask how long it was going to take to get their meals as well. This killed the whole vibe and the mood and we left the place very much annoyed. Please, if you wish to continue having customers at your establishment I suggest you promptly do the needful to expedite the service as fast as possible, and give your service staff a bit of training. They seemed very nice but were clueless, (the second time i went to ask where the pizza is, one of them actually asked me what my table was, yikes!) will not be coming here again and would not recommend to anyone...

I had the pleasure of visiting Al Fresco Cafe today, and it was a delightful culinary journey. The Prawn and Corn Wrap was a standout, offering a perfect blend of flavours and textures. The Hot Butter Cuttlefish and Stir-Fried Spaghetti were equally impressive, both in taste and presentation.

The Banana Milkshake and Peach Tea were the perfect accompaniments to the meal, enhancing the dining experience with their refreshing flavours. I was particularly impressed by the generous portion sizes and the aesthetic way the food was presented.

The service at Al Fresco Cafe deserves special mention – it was prompt, courteous, and efficient, adding to the pleasant ambience of the cafe.

The only minor disappointment was the absence of mocktails during our visit, which would have been a nice addition to the beverage options. Despite this, the experience was overall very satisfying.
