We visited Chana’s for Iftar, influenced by an Instagram video that made it look great—but the reality was completely different. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only three families dining in, yet the customer service was still terrible. One of the staff members, an older man, was particularly rude and arrogant, which made the experience even worse. Food Quality: • The Iftar pack was a total scam—what they advertised and what they served were completely different. • Their chicken wrap was ridiculously small, even smaller than a regular beef roti. • The tandoori chicken was extremely dry and barely edible. • The Biriyani was the only somewhat decent dish, but overall, the meal was not worth the price. Service & Atmosphere: • Despite only three occupied tables, service was slow and unprofessional. • The staff seemed uninterested, and one particular employee was outright arrogant and rude. Overall, Chana’s did not live up to its hype at all. If you’re considering visiting based on social media promotions, don’t fall for it. There are far better places to go for Iftar or Indian cuisine in the area.

So the place is quite alright. We’d give it a 3/5 or less, for ambiance. For couples, this place is not very romantic but if you’re done w your honeymoon phase and genuinely just wanna go grab some flavorsome Indian food for a decent price point, this place is it. Which brings me to the taste of the food, honestly it’s a 4/5 and the one point that’s missing, is because it tastes more Sri Lankan than Indian tbh, not complaining though. However we went on a Friday night at about 8:30PM and they didn’t have any biriyani -_- which was disappointing, like “Um what?”; I mean it is an “Indian restaurant”. So we got a Mongolian “Prawn & Chicken” instead, which was flavorful but hardly had any chicken, let alone prawn! The prawn(s)[we seriously think it was just one prawn] was cut in to these miniature pieces (literally had only 2 of those tiny pieces); might as well get the Mongolian Chicken for that’s all it had (barely). Oh and also they don’t serve falooda. But all in all the place isn’t too bad and is affordable. (Last picture is 1 of 2 pieces we found in the rice).

It's like this, I haven't spent a lot of time at here the last time (also which was the first time) which I visited here. But the experience if I break down into few areas, it's as follows: Service: It was good. The staff was busy when we visited, but they still wanted to wait our table. And they were good and politely. Food: I have my reservations here. Why? Because most of the items listed in the menu had a sticker pasted on top of it saying NOT AVAILABLE. We selected a few dishes but it was not available. Space: Pretty spacious place. There is also a second floor. So you don't have to worry about place being crowded. But the car park will only hold a few cars as I could do just a rough mind measurement. Price: bit pricey, when considering that you don't have many options in the menu. Atmosphere: okay and nice. Considering all these, my review ends at 3 stars. But trust me, this place has potential but they have to address these concerns.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received from your Chana’s banquet manager, Peter, during a recent event at your banquet hall. Unfortunately, the manager's behaviour towards me and my guests was unprofessional and completely unacceptable.

Throughout the event, I observed that the manager was rude and dismissive towards me and my guests, making us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. He ignored our requests, spoke to us in a condescending and dismissive tone, and showed little to no interest in ensuring that we had an enjoyable experience. We just asked to place the name board near the stair case, and his reply was …… “you can lift and keep it there… It was rude…... twice we request him finally he replies rudely…… The banquet hall ceiling light system was not working, so we requested him to arrange it… his reply was…. Do you need this colour lighting?....... Finally, when we came to settle the payment, his behaviours were very bad. We have already completed the payment by cash, and the cash supervisor confirmed the completion of the payment. Still, he was forcing us to check the payment pending. As a result of their behaviour, we feel that I was not able to fully enjoy the event that I had planned and paid for. I expected to receive a high level of service from your establishment, and I am extremely disappointed that the manager's behaviour was so far below my expectations.

I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter and ensure that the necessary steps are taken to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. I hope that this feedback will be taken seriously and that appropriate measures will be taken to address the issue. Other than this great food, friendly staff they were very supportive with serving the food on time. Especially Mr. Nawzer played a huge part in helping us to choose a good menu in a budget friendly manner. He was very keen on inquiring about whether there were any further requirements to be done with the hall arrangements before the event started. He was also very friendly with us and gave his maximum effort to make the event happen faultlessly, and this must be much...

I recently visited Chana’s Colombo for a family dinner, and it was an excellent choice! The restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made it perfect for a relaxed evening with loved ones.

The menu offered a great variety of dishes, and everything we ordered was delicious. The flavors were authentic, and the presentation was top-notch. Each dish was carefully prepared, and you could taste the quality of the ingredients. The portion sizes were generous, and everyone left the table fully satisfied.

The service was outstanding as well. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. They even took the time to explain some of the dishes to us, which was much appreciated.

The ambiance at Chana’s is cozy yet elegant, making it ideal for both family gatherings and more intimate meals. The decor added to the overall experience, creating a lovely setting for our dinner.

Overall, Chana’s Colombo is a fantastic spot for a family dinner. The food, service, and atmosphere all exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be returning for...
