Cloud9 Rooftop Lounge — Restaurant in Colombo

The views are what make this place. I walked from downtown Colombo and this is the first rooftop bar I stumbled upon (a whole 6km later, but I might've missed something...). It's on the 11th floor/rooftop of the Ocean Hotel. Half is covered, half is uncovered (for earlier in the day or for the rainy days). The only thing between the property and the ocean is a relatively quiet street, two train tracks, and a rocky beach. It's quite pleasant on top.

Service and mixed drinks are kind of mediocre, but they still have alcohol and are fairly reasonably priced (500 lkr for a large beer, cocktails starting at 650 lkr).

Music is a house mix of pop songs. I kind of enjoyed it, and it wasn't terribly loud.

Food menu is from the restaurant downstairs. I didn't see a huge selection of Sri Lankan food, but enjoyed the mac and cheese I ordered.

A 5 star rating is pushing it a bit for this place, but it's got the views I walked 6km for, so I'm going with it. I enjoyed...

It was quite and private place with mesmerising view of Colombo and the sea shore. Service is better than most of the rooftop bars and food os worth your money. Sometimes music is irritating and seating facilities can improve by miles. Recommended for chilling beer with loved ones at sunset is impeccable...

Very underwhelming for an exclusive place for a sunset. Orders were wrong, bill incorrect, left after one drinks as the music was very loud for 8pm, and there were only 8 people there. Quite disappointed really after all the online reviews...
