Chinese Dragon Cafe Bambalapitiya — Restaurant in Colombo

Went for dinner with my family and another family, wife of a very good friend and their two daughters, altogether seven people. Went there at around 6:30 pm. Car park was almost empty.

We wanted to have the dinner at upstairs but we had to come down as one of the waiters came and informed that food is served on in downstairs. This is BAD as most of the staff saw that we were climbing the stairs but none of them told. When this is included in this review, immediately the management apologized and informed to take action not to repeat the same. THIS SHOULD BE REALLY ADMIRED.

We ordered soup. We were not in a hurry and they took their own time to serve. Mean time we got hit water instead bottled water. We got prawn & egg soup and chicken & egg soup. All enjoyed it.

We ordered prawn fried rise, hot butter cuttle fish, Manchurian fish, chicken with nuts, mix vegetable with button mushroom & bamboo shoots, prawn omelette. There was an offer of free small chicken fried rise for hot butter cuttle fish. As we ordered 2 portions, we got 2 small fried rise dishes FOC. Food were served in a short time. Food was very delicious.

For desserts we ordered ice-cream with chocolate source topping and cashew nuts.

Bill was around Rs. 12,200/= and a very reasonable price.

I'm upgrading my rating from 4 to 5 for the value CDC places on their customers. There was a miscommunication issue when placing the order and they forgot to replace a dish that comes fixed with the dragon pack. After a couple of calls and explanations, they agreed to deliver the dish separately. They accepted the cost of the dish and delivery to satisfy a regular customer. While appreciating their effort I would like CDC to tweak their order receiving process to make sure the agent double confirms the dishes that come with the pack and receives a "Yes" from customer after every item in the pack is repeated before confirming the order. If an item requested isn't available at the outlet, that should be "specifically mentioned". Hope this helps CDC to avoid issues like this in the future and save costs. Thanks
