ON14 Rooftop Lounge & Bar — Restaurant in Colombo

The Manager wanted me to list his name, but that wouldn't be fair after I had dinner. I had an initial experience that was beyond all expectations while I was waiting for my room to be prepared before checkin, and after check in when I came up to watch the sunset. But when I came back for food everything changed. I ordered the chicken Ceasar with no placed egg and a glass of ice water. After ordering I waited for my food when It finally arrived I was met with this warm, soggy mess of moist croutons and warm soft lettuce, with chicken that was dry before being dressed. I was practically ignored by the wait staff after the manager disappeared. I had to get up and ask for a refill of my water ( while the wait staff stared at a phone watching videos. No one came to check on my food and I was passed by the wait staff whom made eye contact with me and still no one came to check on me or offer another refill. Really disappointing evening! I have travelled and experienced different radisson blu brands and always have been satisfied with their quality of standard. However this place beverage quality really shocked me negatively. We were group of 6 that ordered different type of beverage. My first choice was sangria nuwawa which is quite standard drink internationally. It had no trace of white wine as it was described. I had recheck with my friend to reconfirm. After back and forth with waiter, the manager came and explained that drink only contains 150ml of white wine hence the experience. We all had to explained to him this is nothing like other average sangria we tasted different places across colombo. They refused to take any action and I did not want to make a scene. I suspect my option of quality would vehemently differ from some of the reviews on this but here goes: solo traveller, plenty cash in the bank and looking to have a nice meal whilst spending a few days in Colombo turn up at this rooftop bar which was barely 1/3 full to find out they only seat reserved guests - this despite the emptiness of the bar and restaurant was instead diverted to 1st floor (called EAT) where I'm told they are only serving buffet. I decide to go with it anyway as the only other option is KFC - however, after hidden taxes and charges not made clear when buffet was being offered - I've ended up with a bill of nearly LKR 4000 - which is over 20 GBP - for the record, I had chicken korma and some fruit and a beer

Avoid this overhyped, nonsense apparition of 'quality' - the only positive I can give it is that the staff who looked after me on the first floor were very pleasant.
