Lamian (Beef Noodles China Halal) — Restaurant in Colombo

Tried the stir-fried beef noodles, beef fried rice and beef & onion curry. Unfortunately, none of the three dishes felt worth the price. The flavors didn’t quite meet our expectations, possibly due to the specific cooking style, which we may not be accustomed to.

That said, I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1 because this is a small, family-run restaurant and I respect the effort behind it. The place wasn’t crowded during our visit, and while these particular dishes didn’t work for us, I’m open to trying other options in the future, especially the soup noodles, which seem more promising.

Not at all tasty. The food is so bland. When compared to ramen at any where else in Colombo, this is by far the worst.

The staff is pretty chilled out and the service is super fast, probably because there’s nothing much to cook, cannot explain how bland the food is.

The sitting area is so warm, and the crowd was really loud. The tables are so cluttered with two benches on the side. Perfect for two and would seat 4 people really congested.

Also not worth the price, a dish starts from 2000, and the portions are tiny, and not sufficing for one. At least two dishes should be ordered per head, which will make the net cost per person around 5000.

Beef noodle soup was okay, and tasted homemade in a good way. It wasn’t overly salty, the broth was flavourful but there were only 4 bite sized beef pieces. You’d think there would be more beef pieces in a place that calls itself “Beef Noodles China”. THIS PLACE IS NOT halal certified even though they have the word halal in their restaurant name. I thought that to be a bit misleading. When I asked about the halal certification, they looked confused and the waitress then said they have applied for it and their approval is pending. We should have checked for the certification before eating there as many places in Colombo claim to be halal while...
